    GMD-1 loco plans for kitbash

I have an SD-9 which I am thinking of kitbashing to a (passable) GMD-1 (A1A-A1A) If Kaslo or some of the others make a shell for the GMD-1, fine; otherwise I think it wouldn't be that hard to scratch-build a shell for it. (I hope!) Gordon

    GMD-1 loco plans for kitbash

Thanks, Brady. I'll check out the CNLines list (I'm actually a member of it.) BTW I'd love to visit you, but either you or I am/are on the wrong ocean! :-D

    GMD-1 loco plans for kitbash

I am searching for drawings of the GMD-1 locomotive, preferably for N scale. I think I might be able to kitbash a passable A1A-A1A version of it using a SD-9 mechanism that I have. I'm getting frustrated!! Thanks people! Gord Craig old railfans never die; they just lose track!

    N Scale Box Cab

CN Boxcab Diesel Good suggestion. Hey, with my eyesight the trucks could be anything at all!!! What I do need is some drawings of the unit(s) to figure where I go from there. Gordon.

    re photo of CN 9000

Just was looking over the historical photos in TrainsCan.com and discovered that #9000 in the picture posted here was actually photographed at Lachine Quebec. So I think I was half right. Probably was #15, all right, but the Toronto-Montreal leg of the run. Just to keep the record straight. ...

    Canadian SD 7/9s??

foreign locos on Canadian railroads One of the things I regularly observed when I was watching trains in Northwestern Ontario a few years ago is that CP often rents (begs, borrows, steals) some extra power when they need it. I was thrilled to see a UP unit, because I love that yellow & gray...

    N Scale Box Cab

pioneer CN diesel boxcab I know that D truck will be tricky; actually any suggestions for modelling it would be gladly received. It is a wonder that CN hasn't made more of a fuss about this engine. It's Canadian self-effacement again. Look at the UP M10000 - Lionel built a model of it, for...

    The old N-scale layout

Ray: You mention sagging-- I built a layout on a hollow-core door, and before I had run it very long, the cars came rolling out of the yard onto the main. Sure enough, the thing was sagging. So I'm using styrofoam on wood frame now for my construction, and Kato Unitrack for roadbed. You've...

    N Scale Box Cab

Yes, it's a very fascinating engine. Don't know anything about its history &c. BTW sorry about being off for so long; but don't worry; I'm back! It would appear that the two units (9000 and 9001) always worked together as a unit; anybody with any info about this unit I would appreciate more...

    N Scale Box Cab

Boxcab Diesel Yes, that's the one. Any suggestions as to plans, or better still some kind of kitbash that would build it (MDC had a vaguely similar boxcab in HO several years ago)?

    N Scale Box Cab

boxcab A very neat model indeed! And now for a question. Does anyone know where one could get drawings for CN's original 9000, a two unit diesel pioneer, built in the 1930's I believe. I would like to try to build it; it's quite a famous loco in Canada. Gordon
