    Show me your switch stands!

Trying to decide on a switch stand. I'd like to see pics of them installed in your layouts. What I'm looking for is something very realistic and operating in HO. I'm willing to do significant work for something "right". So post a pic of your switch stands, and tell me about 'em. :)

    Hello again!

Recently found this forum for the second time. Had joined up here about 3 years ago, but then forgot about the place (busy with education and all that), but I have returned! How is everyone? :)

So I have gotten my start with DCC, and fried my first decoder.

At the Winston-Salem GATS last Sunday, a buddy of mine picked up an AtlasMaster DCC Commander and Generator set for $20 after I told him I'd let him have first stab at it... if he didn't buy it I would have bought it anyway. I picked up a new RPP 8-40CW body shell from my local hobby shop to replace a screwed up shell from a project I was working on years ago... it's sitting on the RPP chassis, with Athearn trucks and a Sagami motor. I've just put P:87 40" wheelsets on it, and now I need to decide what locomotive...

Any repowering ideas for an Athearn GP38-2?

I've got one of these that I'm superdetailing (Everything from firecracker antennas to P87 wheelsets!) and I have considered replacing the Athearn motor with something better. Anybody have any ideas? It's going to be used for probably a couple years on DC before I can get a DCC system. I saw a...

What do you use to power Circuitron Tortises? (Also, Atlas C55 + Circuitron!)

Yesterday I finished fastening the first of several Circuitron Tortises to the underside of the blue foam scenery of my N scale C&O layout. I glued a piece of 1/8" aircraft plywood between the top and second layers of blue foam to have an attachment point for the switch motor. I applied 12V...

Any N C&O modelers in the house?

New to this forum, saying hello! My current project is a freelanced dead-end branchline representing a fictional WV town. I'm looking for ideas for turning a Spectrum Consolidation into a G7 or G9 as it would have appeared towards the end of its service life.
