I tried a different way of weathering last night. I used pastels, and mixed a bit of water with it. At first, I did WAY too much, so I wiped it off, and it made it look better. What do you think? Too much?

Does anyone have a modern saw mill on their layout? I'm thinking of adding one, and would like to see what others have done. I have a place that all of my wood chips come from, just thinking there may be more than wood chips to be produced!

Just wondering what everyone uses to control what cars go to which industries on layouts? I'm trying to figure out a good system to use. Any ideas?

Around 70% of modern paper mills use recycled paper, so would those mills use noting but reclcled paper? Or do they still use woodchips or pulp?

Given the choice, which would you choose? - a 5 track reverse loop staging yard or - a 6 track double ended staging yard? Both would be the same length, the double ended one has an extra track to run the engines around. Both have thier advantages, the reverse loop staging yard...
