I saw one of these in a post a while back, and can't seem to find who makes them or when they were released. Can anyone help me? They are red and I think they are 65' long used for scrap metal.

Mike Hagarty's N scale 'Mountain Sub'

It's time to start a thread to show the progress of the new layout. It will be called the Mountain Subdivision, set in the Canadian Rockies, well at least most of it will be. I would like to have a grain elevator module, so I might go a bit to the east with half the layout! Here the first...

What does everyone use to support your layouts? I just built a combination of shelves and legs for my last layout, but this one is going to be modular, so I'm looking for some different ideas. Thanks in advance!

Hello everyone, it's been a while since I've posted. I have checked in once and a while, but been very busy with moving and getting the new place all finished. Now that that's all done, it's time to start planning the new layout! I've started building the benchwork for the main yard/staging...

    Clean slate...

Here is a blank page of the space I have to work with in the new place. The dimensions are in feet, each square is 1 foot, and the 2 black dots are steel posts. There is room under the stairs to run under, if need be! It's about 4'-3" high under the landing. -What are your ideas? I've drawn...

    New beginning???

The house went on the market today, so next week, the Laggan Sub will start being dismantled. That's the bad news. The good news is the new house has a basement that is 50% BIGGER! I have already started drawing layout ideas! Thank you everyone for all of your comments and help over the last 4...

CP's new green goats, N scale?

Here are a few pictures of CP's brand new green goat, number 1700. Do you think anyone will make these in N scale? It would be hard to make them heavy enough to pull anything, there would be almost no room for weight! I don' think they are very nice looking, different, that's for sure. But I...

    Walthers CP RAIL ballast cars...

Does anyone know where I could find some of these? I'd like to get a ballast train of the Walthers cars, in CP. I can re-number them, so it's not important if the numbers are the same. It seems they are hard to find. If anyone could help me, it would be great! Thank you in advance!

    What do you think?

I tried a different way of weathering last night. I used pastels, and mixed a bit of water with it. At first, I did WAY too much, so I wiped it off, and it made it look better. What do you think? Too much?

    Modern Saw Mill

Does anyone have a modern saw mill on their layout? I'm thinking of adding one, and would like to see what others have done. I have a place that all of my wood chips come from, just thinking there may be more than wood chips to be produced!

    I got a new Tacoma about 2 weeks ago, it's great! I went one winter without a 4x4, and it was too much! This should be fun in the snow and mud! To bad I don't need to buy anymore plywood for the layout! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

New Pulp and Paper Mill at Ottertail

Here is the current track plan for my proposed Pulp and Paper Mill at Ottertail. (I'm sure it will change by the time I start laying the track!) I might have an operating session over the holidays, and then start building the bechwork for it after that. I figure the mill should get about 15-20...

    Staging yards.

Given the choice, which would you choose? - a 5 track reverse loop staging yard or - a 6 track double ended staging yard? Both would be the same length, the double ended one has an extra track to run the engines around. Both have thier advantages, the reverse loop staging yard...
