    Consignment train?

How about Atlas 90 ton hoppers? The accumate trucks and couplers on the new release are very decent. They go for around 5.20 to 5.50 each....TexNrails has em cheap. Shipping might not be too bad from Miami compared to other places in the country. If you model US prototype this is the way to...

    Kato AC4400's

I must comment......These are one of the finest locomotives made in N scale. The performance is probably the best ever and the looks are excellent too although the only thing that doesn't make these the best looking N scale locomotives is the fact that there arent sunshades nor painted handrail...

    CP Coal Cars

Towards the end I know 90 tons like the ones Atlas makes were used (maybe 1965+?) I know in the earlier days they used the quad hoppers Bachman makes...There are 90 tons still out there today and the quad hoppers made it into the early 80's I believe as some were the in "Pacman" scheme. Hope...

Did you get any trains for Christmas?

I got a Conrail Gp38 (Atlas) that I renumbered into NS, a highhood KATO NS GP38-2 kitbashed and painted by Scott Teague. And a Conrail Quality C30-7A also painted by Scott Teague. The Conrail is wired backwards and is very interesting. I also got 5 unitrack switches and 25 feet of track. I...

Weather problems and "welded rail" Q:

Well, the track was ballasted and on AMI roadbed, which was on white foam, with a layer of insulation foam under that and a 3 inch thick oak atble under that. The track was nailed in and even had railjoiners. The curve was about 16.5 inch radius. I will take some pictures. There were two...

Weather problems and "welded rail" Q:

I recently welded (soldered) the first track of my main. The rail is flex track. I was soon operating 30-50 car trains without diffuculty. I stopped a 30 car grain extra after 30 perfect laps. Then a week later I started the train up. Over the mainstreet overpass on a horseshoe curve, the...

    Joining rails

I use rail joiners, but after I solder and nail the tracks and even use nail to keep them in place not through the holes I get my Xuron cutting tool and mach the rail joiners into the rail horizontally. They still work and aren't as big anymore. sometimes I even cut vertically, except where...

    angels on track

Yesterday I went to Will Snyder's office (the Hagerstwon Trainmaster) to pick up frequencies. He told me to come on down. When I got there he was gone. I was informed that he had left 5 minutes earlier to go down to Williamsport on the Lurgan Sub because a body had been found near a grade...

    AMI road bed

I like it over foam because it is firm and the nails can be placed in easily. Myu only complaint is excess foam getting stuck on the roadbed. It's a problem that you can live through.

    I need help

I have an A unit I've had for a good 8 years. At first it was ok, but load and jerky. Now all it does is make noises on the track. I've taken it apart and still got the same results. It is junk and it's the lone reason I have a new industry- A locomotive scrap shop.

N Scale Website - Great Diorama

That elevator reminds me a lot of one in Breathedsville Md. on an old B&O branch line (used mainly for WM interchange and Passenger, berries, and LTCL shipments). After passenger service and B&O/WM interchange came to a screatching halt and the demise of other industries, the line was scrapped...
