Elsewhere in cyberworld a contest was sponsored to built a diorama using a hydrocal wall from Downtown Deco (the sponsor). Having never worked with hydrocal castings before (other than homemade rocks) I decided to give it a try. This is the N-Scale wall section I started with:

This weekend is Railfest and one of the attractions is the restored Shay that was run by the Graham County R.R. up until about 1985. It now belongs to the North Carolina Museum of Transportation.

This Dekay snake (adult, 9 inches, pregnant) evidently thought it would be a good place to have her babies. I thought otherwise, she now resides in the woods again where she belongs. :eek:

Just thought I would post this for anybody visiting the Western North Carolina area. Right next to the real train station here in town is Smoky Mountain Trains, a combination Train store and Lionel Museum. In the Museum section they have several thousand pieces of Lionel rolling stock and...

People are rushing down to the station as word spreads that the crew is pushing a flatcar with the skull of a prehistoric "Rodentus Giantgantus" on it back to town. Seems one of the pulpwood crews unearthed it. With (in n-scale) 2 foot teeth and a 18 foot skull, how would you like to find this...
