RC Trucks

Like a real vehicle, the design of radio control trucks otherwise known as RC trucks have evolved from a rudimentary design to an advanced, sophisticated and fully-equipped vehicle. In the past, RC trucks were just a result of modifying toy cars. It was a mere hobby for some. Now, playing RC truck is already considered both a hobby and a sport. And it is enjoyed worldwide by children and adults, professionals and non-professionals alike.

Although some hobbyists would still prefer to build and assemble their own RC trucks, commercially built RC trucks or partially assembled packages in wide array of choices are already available. The only thing that did not change is that RC trucks remained small in size.
Realistically scaled, an RC truck is easily identifiable from any other toy vehicle because of its big tires, large wheels and rugged design that project an aura that it can withstand any rough terrain. The tires of an RC truck are big and have bigger tread patterns than other toy vehicles. This gives RC trucks reasonable ground clearance so expect an awesome performance even when driving through grass, dirt, mud, gravel, sand or any other off-road terrains.

RC truck is also equipped with high-powered engines, advanced suspensions, nicely-finished body and sophisticated electronics. Some RC trucks are even equipped with more advance features such as 4 wheel drive, transmitter controlled reverse, disk brakes, 2 speed transmissions, 8 hydraulic shocks and electric motors. When powered, a supercharge whine is always evident. The sound of the engine excites the player like a real race vehicle will do. The higher-end RC trucks are even equipped with nitro engines. Nitro engine for RC trucks is also known as big block engine and comes in several sizes.

Aside from its big tires and high-powered engines, RC trucks are also equipped with excellent shock absorber springs, low power acceleration and considerably large amount of suspension travel. This is designed so as to survive humps, big jumps and other debris that is on its path. Although the engines are powerful, an RC truck is not designed for relatively high speed. Rather, it is designed for low speed maneuvering like climbing and moving through rough terrains.

Because of its big tires and large wheels, RC trucks are generally larger in size. They usually are scaled 1/8. These are also the factors why RC trucks are heavier than other toy vehicles. The extra weight proves beneficial to the RC truck by keeping it on track and not thrown off easily during jumps and when driving off-road.

Sophistication, advancement and complexity of the design made RC trucks more expensive. But the price is nothing when compared to the feeling of excitement when an RC truck jumps off, fly on air and reach the ground standing.
