Hi, today I finished my Iron Man model. It is a free model from Paper Replika. I also planing to build a diorama for the model. The model is build with some extras, the eyes and the ark-reactor are illuminated with LEds. Seperatly the right hand-weapon is also Illuminated. The LEDs I used are very powerfull, so I had use som bigger resistors, I will test it in the next days. So here are some first Pics

Great!!!

GREAT WORK! Is that the Julius Perdana's Iron Man from Paper Replika? If it is, I am assembling it as well, have done head, torso, both arms and the cod, starting the legs.
You did a marvelous job in the lights, could you show us how?
Thanks!

Diorama Iron Man MK VII

Hi,
some things will last a little bit longer than expected. Today I finished my Iron Man diorama. It tooks a little bit longer to figure out the right brightness and position of all that LED's I used (about 16). The whole Diorama (except the case) is made of cardboard. I used a switch on the right base, so the eyes and the repulsor hand can be switched on and off. All the LED's I used are ordinary 3mm white colour. To adjust the right brightness I used different resitors. The powersupply for the diorama is an old charger from a mobile phone with 5V DC. Here are the pictures of my first Diorama in 2013:

That Hall of Armor box is pretty sweet. You said you found it at Paper-Replika, or was that just the MK7?

I've been modelling the Hall of Armor myself, trying to get the details just right. Dont suppose you have any detailed images of the Back wall and the floor? Thanks.

Hi,
the MK VII is from Paper-replika, the armor box is my design. I used pictures from the san Diego Comic-con 2012 I found on a forum called RPF. There are hundreds of detailed pictures in high resolution. If you like the templates I used for the back wall and the ground send me a pm.

Great Work

Hi loenf,

really nice your IronMan:thumb:.

I had the same idea with the LED's . I have allready bought them, need only to install them. (ONLY !!!!!)

Your display stand is incredible, i fits the Ironman perfectly.

How many LED's did you use ?. If my counting is correct, there must be 11 LED's integrated in your base, am i correct ?

Could you tell the value of your Resistors ?.

Anyway, an awesome build, well done.
I hope i can get mine to that standard too.

Greetings from greece

Hi,
all in all I use 16 LED's. I count them on the photo below. I used different resitors, from 100Ω for very bright light like the spots in the front, to 450Ω for the background lights. One short tipp: if you want to make your model optically opaque, use self-adhesive aluminium foile for the parts which shouldn't be translucent.

LED's used

Thank you Loenf for the info and the detailed Picture.

I see now where i missed the two LED's in my count.

I still have a lot of work till i get to that Point with the LED's.

Thank you and  to Berlin

Man, THAT is what I call diorama. Not only your model looks superb, the diorama gives it ambience, feeling, LIFE! Saying anything else will be repeating everybody's posts (which are absolutely right, BTW), but I won't be able to express all my awe and admiration.
WELL DONE, GREAT JOB!
