Chessie, sorry for your loss. Prayers for you and the family.

Too hot and humid to pick blue berries. Got better hear dark so picked garden. Had to prop up one big peach limb and it was touching ground from so many peaches.

Taking the night off and resting. Sleep tight.

Sorry to hear of your loss Chessie. I lost both of my grandfathers before I was seventeen.

Good morning.

It's 78 and clear this morning. The high is expected to be in the high 90's and it will be partly cloudy with a small chance of thunderstorms.

The saga of the internet problems drags on. Right now it's doing alright, download and upload speeds are both high. I expect the upload speed to drop off around 11am or noon. Yesterday it went from a speed of 500 all the way down to a speed of 1! They're sending a tech out today, probably on a mission to prove that it's my equipment and not their's that's causing the problem. How's my equipment going to effect an entire area? Why do other systems in this area exhibit the exact same symptoms as mine? I'm goint to keep passing the buck back to them until this gets resolved.

Good morning folks

It was a sticky 75 F as I headed back to work. High today will be 92 F. We had some rain last night but all it did was make the humidity worse.

It was a busy weekend. Saturday we went to the movies and saw Hellboy II. We followed that with one the worst dinners in a while. Service was poor and we had to send one of our dishes back twice in order for them to get it right. Then the waiter starts making excuses and arguing with us. At which point I informed him that I used to do short order cooking and that if the cook had a problem with my complaint he can come talk to me about himself. Needless to say the tip was very small and had a note reminding the waiter that he is in customer service not the other way around. On Sunday we went to the Crayola Factory and National Canal Museum in Easton. Even though the kids may have been a little old for Crayola they still had a good time. Putting them in a situation where they can make stuff is right up their alley and the Crayola is very hands on. The Canal Museum was also a lot of fun with a several hands exhibit. The best was when the kids got to operate a model boat through a canal with locks and incline planes. It was a great way to teach how a canal works. The Museum also had a some model trains and a small operating G- scale layout.

No modeling. I did run a train and do a photo session. I just did not get the time to upload the photos.

Chessie, you have our deepest sympathies and prayers.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Morning all. Back online after a lot of offline work this weekend. Humid and spitting rain here in Chicago. Streetlights on its so dark. Chessie, sorry for your loss. Jeffrey, love that 'find' - it'll make a fine model. I like to prowl around old rights of way (legally) to see what's still there.

GOOD MORNING
Chessie, sorry to hear about your grandfather.
I'm tired this morning, having returned from a four day camping trip with our kids and grandsons. We all had a good time without incident. So no train playing since last Wednesday and none planned for today. Got to recoup. Picked my first tomato when we got home so now I can have my own BLTs without being tormented by the Chief. Everyone have a great day...S.J.

i wish my tomato's would hurry up and turn red!, i have lots of them, and some nice sized ones, but there all green still! i did get a few red cherry tomato's so far tho.

Hey Ozzy, I keep thinking that this year I'll plant a little garden, but kids and stuff get in the way. Maybe next year (again)!

Chessie, sorry to hear about your loss.

Too hot to do anything and still recouping from a knee injury last week, and the week before! Oh well, eventually it will be okay to cut the lawn. I'm in no hurry, yet.

Too many big meals today. Plop Plop Fizz Fizz. They were free but now I pay [not in dollars]. Tired as two too long meetings. Good night all.

well i went and worked on the club layout today, put some highway stripes in. ran some trains, still learning how to run the DCS, i will get it all figured out at the club then i will know how to work it when i get around to buying it for here at home. i want to get a better transformer first. no big hurry on any of it as i dont have much room for a nice layout . but i get to run my trains at the club so i get my fix that way....lol

Good morning.

It's 75 and clear. The high today should be around the mid 90's and it'll be mostly cloudy and there's a fair chance of thunderstorms. It would be nice if they bring some rain along with them.

Still have internet problems here so loading web pages and posting replies is very slow and very aggravating. This is day #6. One thing for sure, I better see a good bit off my bill, cause I'm definitely not getting what I'm paying for. I'm paying for high speed and getting slower than dial-up!

Good morning folks

It was 77 F on the way this morning. High today is supposed to be 94 with a chance of thunderstorms.

No modeling last night. My daughter had a basketball game. Her team won 40 to 6. It was pretty ugly. They were up at half time 20 to 0. They even tried to take it easy. They played back on defense and had to make six passes before a shot and no fast breaks. Even with all the chances the other team kept giving up the ball and taking bad shots.

Now I am off to a morning full of meetings. I have to take my daughter to the orthodontist this afternoon. She has a broken band on her braces that has to be fixed. She will be getting the braces off in about two weeks.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Morning all. Sunny and cool here in Chicago. Here's an amusing scenario you might've experienced: 7:30 pm last eve, the middle boy who is going out for freshmen football pipes up: I need cleats for tomorrow. Me: Wha? You've been home all day. Your mom has been home all day... but I really didn't mind going out to get a pair. Found the local sporting goods store full of dads and boys looking at cleats... LOL.

I've been enjoying reading the last few MRs, picking up some hints from you smaller scale hobbyists. Here's an interesting one for today: use figures to help your switching. Place a figure to remind you to pause to move a switch, allow 'him' to get back on the engine or caboose, move to uncouple a car, recouple air hoses, etc. I'll have to try it with some of my oversize Thomas the Tank men...

Morning all. Slept late. Phone rang at 8:40 and woke me up. Town business. Got to get some coffee. Need to mow. Going to look at a house at Kerr Lake this evening. TomPM, you remind me of me when my kids were younger. Go, go go, go and go. Chat later.

Chessie, sorry to hear about your loss. Although it is a time of sorrow it is also an opportunity to connect with family and friends that you not see often and strengthen bonds.

Brutus, 5 tomato plants and 4 pepper plants and 3 squash is about all I can handle lots of weed pulling and watering.

CSX - I actually thought about doing a planter garden this year up on the deck, but it gets a lot of sun, so don't know how well it would work.
