Here is a newbie question... on the plan there are two joints labeled "insulated." What does that mean?

SS, it looks like you're off to a great start. I really like how your loop curves in and out in kind of an hour glass shape instead of just running parallel to the sides of the layout. I think it makes the track plan more interesting. ;)

that was part of the plan all along :)


As of right now, the inglenook is wired and working. Spent a little time with the switching game this afternoon...which doesn't really get too old. I will need to solder the power connection though.

Once I get all the track joined together Im planning to glue the track to the board with a little school glue on each unit.
