Ok, i went off the deep end here and jumped into "trying" to build the tower. This is gonna be a very long and time consuming build for sure. i printed out all the sheets on 11 x 17 sheets and started cutting out the main legs. A LOT OF CUTTING..:hammerhead::hammerhead::biggrin:..
20190420_151013.jpg 20190420_151013.jpg as you can see...its gonna be big there is a lot to cut on just one leg. and i got 3 more to go.. oh my poor hands:)
20190504_135252.jpg all 4 legs cut out.. now on to coloring the edges before i forget to.. got a small water coloring set and mixing the red and orange gets to color close to whats printed..
58649514_2280141058913899_3601668246241017856_n.jpg the lower main brace for the legs. this was 2 sections folded togther and glued.
thats it for now. took me about 2 weeks to get time to get this far, very slow cutting and i did have a few cut through on some of the braces.
thanks for looking

Oh Boy,

i agree with Revell-Fan, this is a very challenging build. So many triangles to cut out.
I wish you all the patience you need for that task.

Good luck.

Go to a welding shop and buy some .030" Tig Welding Wire. Not expensive, and incorporated into the corners will give this model the long termm rigidity it needs. ;)

So many cuts, my fingers hurt just looking. This tower is spectacular, riding that will not be simple and very delicate. Good luck!

ok, a "little" more progress on the tower. so far its been "fun".... a few nicks that i could spot glue back into place. so far i've gone through 20 blades with i got done. need to get a stone to resharpen just the tips, rest of the blade is sharp.one of 4 legs all trimmed and ready to go20190509_141232.jpg
main bottom brace 20190509_141244.jpg
and so it begins.... brace glued to the first leg20190511_151108.jpg
made the 4 corner pieces and attached them in place as i added the legs 20190511_153825_HDR.jpg

looks good ..yes??..hahaha wait for it.......
20190515_153137.jpg 20190516_141933.jpg
talk about "thin".....took almost a hour to do 1...slow cuts and i still cut through sometimes. damn hands like to move on their on sometimes, let alone the eyes go wonkie:bulgeeye::bulgeeye:.. so thats what i got done so far. got to cut out bracing for the arched part of legs and glue on.. its really getting stronger as i add parts on so its gonna be solid and not shift when done... well, i hope.. will be back with more as i go along. so please, keep looking and all comments ( and gripes:animated:) are welcome....:biggrin::biggrin:

madness is right.. then again, i was always mad...HAHAHA.. as for cuts??? fingers or paper??? after the first 5 sections on the legs i gave up counting..
but to give you a idea...110 triangles per leg.. yes , i just counted em...so , 440. not counting bracing... oh alright .. ill count
3 per brace at 5 per leg...36 total.. there , happy???:Grin::Grin::Grin::Grin::hammerhead::hammerhead::hammerhead::hammerhead:
i cant "wait" to get to the upper section.....ohhhh what am i doing?????

Super work. There does appear to be a correlation between mind numbing repetative and challenging tasks, and the quality of the finished piece.
This model is going to be awesome. thumbsup

20190518_125006.jpg front view

20190518_134906.jpg 20190518_134926.jpg
last but not least.. the bracing on the inside of the legs20190518_145416.jpg putting all this on does make the legs a LOT stronger. ok, 3 more to do and thats it for today... got a lot to cut of the next section and ooohhhh my hands are hurting already:):). thanks for looking and comments.

Exactly that is what this is about: fun and relaxation. And it's a certain form of therapy in some difficult moments. In these forums you learn to improve in a surprising way thanks to tricks and tips. In a little more than a year, improve my ability in this.Logically I would like to reach the top level of many modelers, but being realistic I know my limitations.I always remain satisfied to finish a model even though I have many mistakes, I enjoy building, and i consider a supermodel that i have fun and relax, i have ten or a thousand pieces. A simple model that makes us forget for a while the daily hardships for me is a supermodel. Your tower looks great, my clumsy fingers still do not dare to something like that, while I enjoy watching your torture.
