Monday the 26th of November the probe Insight is scheduled to land on Mars. I discovered that around the landing, two small cubesats, launched on the same missile of Insight, will relay status information about the lander's descent and touchdown.

( see this animation )

I found here ( http://zpdmodels.com/SmallSats.htm ) a beautiful paper model and here some picture of the build process of my model with some small improvement.

Nando, you popped that model so quickly, and my comment was too short. The work you did on the antennae, the layering to make the satellite look real, ot some graphics on a square box shows excellent skill. You approach every model you make with genuine care, research, and execution, you have the right to be extremely proud of all of them. :)

Nando! This is an all-new level of gratification. I was not at home during TV direct broadcast but, as soon as I was back, I immediately started viewing the recorded transmission till late night. I was just trying to know if the Insight landing was successful or not, and what I see there? A cardmodel! And not just a cardmodel: the last work from my friend Nando!!! What a nice surprise!!! Many compliments! Great realization, great quality, great speed!

... Seems a silly question, you're the guy on the left, Right? ;)
No Cybergrinder, that's not Nando, he's too modest to appear personally, the guy who holds Nando's model is the conductor who presented the TV show... (what a thrill to see our model manipulated by non-modellers... right Nando? ;) )

In the mean time I started a new project to celebrate next year the Moon fiftyeth anniversary. I choose the Ken's Apollo Command Module. The first problem was the model's final dimension: I have to reduce it to one half. Therefore a lot of problems arose, mainly about which kind of paper, which thickness: I had to do more researches, more experiments, more tests. I had also to verify if the small details could be done as the design provides, and if not which metode could be adopted to approximate the result. I choose to start with the door of the CM, that concentrates all the problems that I can imagine about thickness, a bunch of small details, etc. Here where I am, with my test and the result is quite satisfying and if the next steps will go well, I let you know, starting a proper thread, but the path is still long, very long.
