So, some really talented model builders came around to our local mall with this beauty!

Further info here: https://tintanicmodelship.weebly.com/

The title is not a type-o, they built her hull out of tin :)

Her upper decks built out of water-proofed card :) The pics are not the best I'm afraid, but still convey the size of this beauty.

And some really cool models of the sunken sections;

That is truly awesome. Around 20 years ago, a guy made a destroyer, huge like that, except he could sit inside of it and actually drive it around,, and he was hidden inside.. He used two car starter motors to drive the props. He also had 5" scale down guns that were carbide cannons. He got in a lot of trouble by the EPA policing Lake Candlewood by firing them and scaring the bejesus out of some people, he was fined, and never returned. It was truly awesome. I think if someone did that nowadays, they'd sink that ship and ask questions later. :)

I will try and find a picture, there was one, of the ship out of the water, with the superstructure removed, it was in a newspaper, it seems to have been lost to the ages.

What a beauty. At that size the model starts to take on a visual weight all of its own and looks more like an actual boat and less like a model of a boat.
