The e-candle leds I use actually do that. The beveled plastic diamonds break up the light bouncing enough to make it look really good. 3 for a dollar at the dollar tree, and you get an on/off slide switch and battery holder.

1701-d build pics, probably the worst model i have ever built. It could be my printer's fault or maybe I resized this thing and forgot [it has been sitting in my build folder already printed for about 4 years.] so who knows the reason why the pieces don't work out. If you know this author and you have this ready to build, cut out all the parts and then test fit the entire model before gluing. You will need to snip and tuck almost every piece, if you have the same printing problem I seem to be having. I will plug away on these in my spare time.

Looks easy, doesn't it? Well, it's not. this part was worse than a Rubik's cube, I had to stitch glue this into place on strip tabs in a butt join. So I had to smash it on a non-stick surface while the glue dried. Then roll and push the form of what I remember from the AMT model's shape. I'm very proud of this coming out acceptable. I see the gaps and ripples too, but at least it's pretty close.

Doesn't look easy at all, but it does look good. :)

Sure go ahead, more complex stitch gluing as you bend and mold and cut thepeices on the neck into place.

Used some Red glass floral bling for the hydrogen collectors for various 1701-d types. It works well, buy you need either white, amber or red leds to light them up, blue won't work well enough.

Well, a little more progress on my reversible Klingon Ktinga/D7 starship, thinking that I will explain to print the ship again and then simply just cut out the plates and glue them on the model.
