    I have cancer.

I'm glad you're doing better. Diagnosing it so early is incredibly good luck, so many get diagnosed at stage 4 because pancreatic cancer rarely present with symptoms till much later.

    Stargate Atlantis, Puddle Jumper

Great job! Also, I was looking at this, and though that if you use metal, the puddle jumper would be an awesome mailbox. Especially with the back.

Star Trek Phaser Rifle III - Building Thread

I've built this model in the past. It was one of my first models to do, because it was rather straightforward, the instructions were good and detailed, and it's always nice to have something life size. Mine turned out a little twisted/torqued, mainly because it was one of my first models, it...

    In Memoriam... Leonard Nimoy

In honor of him, lets have a Star Trek marathon, with the addition of Unification from TNG as well as the modern Star Trek reboots. Sprinkle in some Simpsons guess spots as well as other shows he guest on.

    Experimental Ringship U.S.S. Vulcan NX-2063

Wow, they book look so awesome. I wonder what the ship would look like if the Sovereign's Saucer section was removed.

    Akira/Deltaflyer inspired multipurpose amphibious shuttle

Perspective shot? Like from a different angle? I'd still like to have some improved textures, plus I worked on this thing as one half then mirrored it, and a lot of the images are not aligned correctly. Haven't figured out how to do that from what I currently have, and may have to restart...

    Pepakura Problem

I had a similar problem initially, and I just print it to a PDF now. If the PDF comes out the same then I retool things.

    Akira/Deltaflyer inspired multipurpose amphibious shuttle

Thanks. There's actually a little bit of elements from the Defiant and runabout as well. Those side oval markings are supposed to be view ports, similar to the one on a runabout. It was my intention that the top could either serve as a crew quarter, or multipurpose work stations. Based on...

    Akira/Deltaflyer inspired multipurpose amphibious shuttle

Back in 1998, I drew up a shuttle that was based off of the Akira Class from Star Trek First Contact. At the time, my logic was the Defiant had shuttlepods that were inspired by the design of the Defiant. These were small utilitarian Type 18 shuttlepod and the Chaffee type shuttlepod. The...

Any Hints for using Zip Dry Glue?

I've used Zipdry before, and I'm not sure if I used it correctly or not because I hated using it. The glue dried too quickly, and beaded up. I had to scrap it out with a knife. It can be removed by rubbing it off, especially when it strings up, but I found that I end up using too much effort...

    A handy folding tool

Do you guys use anything else to fold things? My projects are not huge, so I'm usually able to get by using flat jaw needle nose pliers or using Webster 5" surgical needle holders.

The Monster -- USS Enterprise NCC1701 Refit 1:200 Scale

Wow, I can't help but feel that it will be larger in person. How tall is your daughter, or more specifically how long is that model? Is there a weight of it? This truly looks like it could have been a studio model back in the days of TOS and TNG, before CGI became the norm.

    what software works best

I agree about the automatic unfold option. I once unfolded something and got hundreds of tiny triangles. It was a preliminary design, so there were no colors. I had to refold, and cut it where I'd like it to unfold. A huge pain because you have to think backwards on how you'd like to...
