Free Heavy Cardstock, courtesy of the US Mail!

Thought I'd pass this along... The majority of the single page Ads sent as Bulk (Junk) Mail are on heavy Cardstock that works great for Internal reinforcement, such as formers & stiffeners. It's also good for Laminating small parts. The printing on the heavier stuff won't bleed through either...

    1:16 Space Shuttle flight deck

I took a hiatus from Modelling just about the time you had just printed the Instrument Panels. I come back over a Year later, & now you've completed the whole damned thing! Magnificent is all I can say; if you intend to do the Outer 1/4 Deck with the same amount of Detail, it will be something...

Is it possible to 'complete' the Hull of a Waterline Model?

I found your Thread on Lofting the Sharpie hull; it looks like the design of the bottom half is quite an undertaking! :)

Is it possible to 'complete' the Hull of a Waterline Model?

zathros, Thanks so much for taking a look at The Rose for me. I'll just build Rocket's Model as it's laid out, and look for a full hull Model out there somewhere. Cheers! Alan thumbsup

Is it possible to 'complete' the Hull of a Waterline Model?

zathros, Many thanks for your Reply! Here's a Link to the Paper Model that inspired my Question: http://rocketmantan.deviantart.com/art/HMS-Surprise-Paper-Model-378020706 And I've also included some Drawings I found on the Web. Please let me know what you think... Cheers! Alan :)

Is it possible to 'complete' the Hull of a Waterline Model?

Happy Holidays! I'm wondering if it's feasible to take a Waterline ship Model, and modify it so one would end up with a 'completed' Hull? I presume some sort of 'skeleton' of formers & ribs would need to be made, then basically laying the horizontal strips down to make up the rest of the Hull...

    Suggestions for my 2nd Model...

So... After conversing with spaceagent-9, who provided me with some very nice .pdf's of the 'Ptolemy' (many Thanks again), I started on the Build. I started with the Connecting Dorsal, which was very straightforward. I then proceeded on to the Warp Nacelle, and ended up with this: I went...

Didn't Wham-O market a "Star Trek' Frisbee similar to the Saucer, with all of the Graphics, to boot? Thanks for the Tips; they'll be quite helpful as I continue with my 'Saladin' Class Refit! Alan

I'm curious; would Horizontal strips of Paper, set radially from the Center of the Disc to the outer edge, assist with stiffening & shaping the Contours of the Disc? Sort of like an internal 'skeleton', but without as many Ribs? Alan

    Suggestions for my 2nd Model...

Gandolf, I didn't think about that, due to the age of the Original Thread... but I will try. Thanks! Alan :sticktongue:

    Suggestions for my 2nd Model...

Greetings! I'm trying to decide on what to Build for my 2nd Model; I'm leaning towards the 1/1700 Scale Enterprise-A, but I have a question. While perusing the Search Results for "Starship", I came across this Thread: USS Columbia Build Down towards the bottom of the Page, there's a Post by...

    My 1st Model!

Everywhere there's a printed Texture, except for Windows and the Doors! I realized that the greebles make the Model 'pop' and give it more Depth! Also, using CA on the Tabs definitely lowers the stress factor when building; just a drop spread thin does the trick! Alan :sticktongue:

    My 1st Model!

Broncos & Rockies won, so back to the Packard! Lots of greeble to cut out... Impulse Engine base done & installed... And the finished product... Enjoy! Alan :sticktongue:

    My 1st Model!

Thanks! Engines installed, with the greeble of the Phaser bank showing... More greeble on the ventral side... And a Side View... Will continue with the Build, after the conclusion of the Broncos and Rockies games! Cheers! Alan :sticktongue:
