    Bachman Spectrum K4

I just recently obtained 2 K4's, that are not DCC ready. Does anyone have any experience with installing a decoder in one of these K4's or can lead me in the direction of getting some info on them? Mark:wave:

    Finish Question

Are Matte finish and flat finish the same? I always thought they were. But, with Krylon Matte finish I can see a little shine. Am I correct in thinking they are the same? If not, what flat finishes do you use? Mark

    Staining and Weathering Stripwood

I would stay with the stripwood or basswood. As far as the weathering, painting the wood whatever woodtone you might be looking for and then adding the india ink wash may be a way to go. Or, head to Home Depot and pick up some minwax stains. Remember washes don't always have to be made out of...

    Digitrax DH163PS head scratcher

It's a digitrax zepher. I am not sure how many amps it pushes, though I think it's 3 amps if I remember correctly, but my problem seems to be isolated to this one locomotive. I've even tried another decoder in it and I had the same result. Mark

    Digitrax DH163PS head scratcher

I have a Proto 2000 S-1 switcher that I put a Digitrax DH163PS in. When I operate the loco on my test track the switcher hardly moves. So, I made some adjustment to the speed CV's and saw no noticible difference. Next, I took the decoder out and ran the switcher with a DC transformer. The...
