    Online train stores

I've been using First Hobby with great success. Fifer Hobby is also great.:thumb: Both have great customer service and communications. Do NOT use Internet Hobbies, they used to be good but have had a change in staff and presently have terrible customer service.:curse: Tom Mann.

Switch trouble, loco trouble, or am I just loco?

Hi; I'm putting my 2 cents worth in here because I have similar issues to those mentioned above. I have 2 Bachmann Steamers. A Spectrum 4-8-2 and a Standard 0-6-0. I added decoders to both and, in the process of playing around, I also removed the plastic plate that hold the drivers in place...

    Update photos of the ACT

Mike - great layout! I like the desert and you have captured it beautifully :) How did you make the highway and what did you use for the yellow line? Tom.

    Trains etc in Regina Sask?

TrainClown; I knew that sooner or later, if I badmouthed Regina enough, someone from there HAD to appear. I have to agree, Regina IS a nice little town. It was the only place there was to shop when we lived in Weyburn. At the time, it had a large Eaton's and a Hudson's Bay Co...

    Trains etc in Regina Sask?

Andrew; Good! Its only temporary. Winter in Saskatchewan is not nice! Have a safe trip. The first time (about 1970 something) I flew into Regina the airport didn't have a taxiway. The plane taxied down the runway, did a 180 and took off. Things have improved a lot since then!:) Tom.

    Trains etc in Regina Sask?

Regina is one of those places "You can't get to from here". Its in the middle of Saskatchewan prairie (nowhere):). I grew up in Weyburn (70 miles SE) and in the 40's and 50's there was a lot of steam action, passenger and freight. Last I was there (about 5 years ago), not much of anything in...

    Driver Quartering

Hi; I have an N Scale Bachmann 4-8-2. I was trying to fabricate a spring for the front pilot to see if that would improve tracking and removed the plastic cover over the gears (between the drivers) to remove and install the pilot. All was fine until I bumped the engine and the drivers...

How many are using code 55 track?

Sorry guys, I don't mind "fiddling" a little, but I'm all fiddled out on Atlas code 55. Looks great, but not worth the trouble in my opinion. I like to run trains, not look at track. Peco code 55 or Atlas? code 80 next time Tom.

DCC in an N Scale abchmann 0-6-0?

Rich; Well, whoever did it, I think it was a neat job!:D Tom.

DCC in an N Scale abchmann 0-6-0?

Rich; Thanks, but mine is an N Scale 0-6-0 with the sloped tender. You did a great (and neat) installation in your loco, much neater than I am. Nice job! I wish mine had anywhere near that much room. I've taken the shell off and did exploratory surgey this afternoon, and it looks...

DCC in an N Scale abchmann 0-6-0?

DCC in an N Scale Bachmann 0-6-0? Hi; I have one of the latest runs of Bachmann 0-6-0's. Has anyone installed DCC in this? I haven't removed the shell yet, but I assume there isn't much room since the motor hangs out the cab. Maybe one would fit in the tender? How about adding...
