    Bridge Track

Has anyone found an inexpensive bridge track with guard rails? Walthers makes it, but to install it on a bridge cost double what the bridge itself cost. Looking for a pre-made or way to home make the track with the closer ties and guard rails. Thanks

Going green for railroads. Good or bad

Do locomotives use the same low sulfer diesel fuel that diesel road trucks burn? I would imagine that burning the same exact same fuel then locomotive emmissions would not increase becuase there are just as many old road trucks running as there are diesel engines.

    Steam train 136mph!?

Norfolk and Westerns Class J 4-8-4 would sustain speeds of 110 mph and there was a story that an engineer opened one up on a stright shot and got +120 I believe, until he got scared and backed it down. They claim it could have done more than that at full throttle.

    Bachmann diesels...good deal?

Get a Bachmann Spectrum. I think most locomotives they sell individualy are Spectrums, but the Spectrums are the ones with good drives and have the light boards.

Here we go again... Dim light?

If I am understaniding you correctly, when moving foward only the front light comes on, and in reverse only the rear light comes on? If that is the case then it needs to be programmed to light both.

Here we go again... Dim light?

If you have a volt meter handy try measuring the voltages of them. See what voltage the decoder is putting out then you might can either elminate the decoder or the lights. Thats what I had to do with the DH163AOs in the Athearn SD70s.

plans to solve problem of 6 wheel loco that is derailing

What would happen if you trimmed the flanges on one of the wheels in each truck? Maybe the back wheel? That way you still have the 3 axle look and the back wheel will slide alittle. Might work.

Yeah as soon as I can see some pictures of it. I wanted to make sure they looked the same first. I don't even know if NS has finished it yet.

    NS F9 HO style

All together close to $150 for all three. But they only thing is that no detail kits or anything are made for it so to get the one fan on the rear I had to buy three, and so on. The decals took a couple of tries so that cost alittle more too. But not bad for three locomotives. Two are powered...

    NS F9 HO style

Here is what I got so far. Made them from Athearn F7s. The decals are custom made off an ink jet printer so there not so good. Its a bad camera too soo its enough to get the picture. Have a few more decals to put on and some more details as well.

    Making decals

Im trying to make some decals using the Testors system. Im only using the paper becuase I found the program to be a rip off. Im trying to make decals for the Norfolk Southern new F9 units. Its a gold color and on the clear paper I can not get it to show up. Everytime I take them off the paper to...

Having problems with Threaded and Hybrid Display modes

Is anyone having problems with the Hybrid and Threaded display modes. I really like having the scrolling list of the replies to a post and being able to click on the newer ones or what not. But it seems that after I get a ways down the list, it starts jumping to the first post instead of the one...

    Detail Associates website?????

Does anyone know if they have a website? I need the side air grilles for a F9A unit(vertical slits) and for two F7B units(horizontal slits). Detail Associates seems to be the only people who make them, and Walthers is the only perosn I can find that sells them, except they are out of stock and...
