    Good ideas wanted!

Val I use the digital cam a lot. The smallest aperture on it is f8 so I don't really have a great DOF. The Minolta goes to f22. I have also used a 3x teleconverter which helps but isn't the real answer. I keep hoping that someone will have some experience to share about pinhole lenses but it...

    Good ideas wanted!

I would like to try making a pinhole lens for my camera to take advantage of the increased depth of field that you really need for good model photography. I thought about getting an old manual lens for my camera but the old manual ones won't fit on the electronic camera body I am using (minolta)...

    Question about benchwork?

I would say that the first thing to do is to decide on a track plan. The type of benchwork will in large part be determined by the plan. Get some squared paper, and draw about 40 or 50 plans that will fit your space. Will your road be point to point, two levels, around the walls, or what? Once...

    Another MOW Car

Since I received some nice comments on the MOW tank car, here is another in the series. Eventually the old North Ridge & Gumby will have a whole train for the maintenance crew but at the speed I work at it will take a while. Have fun Ralph

    L-Girder to Track Laying Questions

One thing to watch for- try not to have a joist underneath a turnout if you plan on using an electric switch machine as the joist will be in the way of your installation. The joists don't have to all be exactly the same distance apart. One of the advantages of L-girder benchwork is that all the...

    The New Guy

HI! I'm new to this forum but while scanning some of the threads I see a few names that I recognize from other forums (fora?). I really like scratch building and bashing so I was attracted to this group right away. Attached is a picture of my latest effort, a MOW tank car for my 1930's era North...
