Buffers:you can use hardened steel nails, if you pick up the apt ones. Keep in mind that buying used rolling stock in Europe can be very cheap.

    Replacement horns for diesels. Enquire

Thanks. Is there any company selling custom made/superdetailing horns? Being in Italy, I have no chances here.

    Replacement horns for diesels. Enquire

I have purchased in the past months quite a lot of used diesel locomotives: MINITRIX, ARNOLD,ConCor, etc...: some of them don't have their original horns anymore. Are there any suitable replacements available? Thank you.

N scale track with built in plastic roadbed?????

roughly, yes, you double the radius. But you might use the max outside diameter to know the u turn space, and add something for clearance. Curved tracks are available in different degrees. To make a u turn you need a total of 180°. You can obtain that with four 45° curved tracks, for instance...

N scale track with built in plastic roadbed?????

What about Fleischmann track? Since it was introduced, it always had molded roadbed. It has flexible track, and switches, of course. Plus 15° and 30° crossings. I am fairly happy with it. I am told Roco released a new track with roadbed, but I have not actually had a look to it.

    ATSF stock cars color

OK. I guess that is what I will do: repaint them! Might save some in green as original mint 6 boxed collector items, but will paint the others. Over!

    ATSF stock cars color

Ok, I try again, in my faulty English. Rolling stock is, well, rolling stock. Cars used to transport livestock are called stock cars or cattle cars, or both? Obviously, asking about green stock cars in ATSF rolling stock might have sounded confusing, so I opted to ask about cattle cars. I do...

    ATSF stock cars color

Would that mean that Burlington stockcars were green, pre merger? I know Gondolas were red, unless also the few Burlington gondolas I have are "wrong"... If the prototypical cars are mineral red, than any stockcar is a good candidate for a repaint and lettering in the correct stile. Too bad I...

    Alco pa & pb

Thank you: so basically I should use the A+B+A configuration, or make up some story if I want to use the A+B+B+A configuration. I guess I will use the prototypical configuration. I will have plenty of "errors" on my layout, owing to ignorance, so I would like to avoid what I now know to be wrong...

    Alco pa & pb

A simple question, which will denote my ignorance on the subject: please be patient! Was only one B unit used in the average lash-up ( A+B+A) or did more than one B unit ( A+B+B+A) get added at times? In other words, did I buy one unit too much for my Santa Fe roster? Thank you.

    ATSF stock cars color

Here is my problem. My U.S. layout is still just a project, but I already decided it is going to be Santa Fe. I have bought a bunch of stock (cattle)cars on ebay, Minitrix and Atlas. They are all green. I have just acquired a book on Santa Fe rolling stock, and none of the cattle cars depicted...

    N Scale Dummy Engines

One thing is the dummy version of a regular engine, and one thing are some models that only came out as dummy, never motorized. Such as, in my country, the Del Prado series, available at newspapers shops only. Some of them quite good. Another solution is to buy distressed engines, and throw...

    Minitrix

Minitrix is a good quality product. Their track mixes perfectly with Roco's. If you want to know more about them, you should get hold of an older catalogue. They made both European and US locomotives and Rolling stock. No problem mixing their products with those from other makes. I have a...
