    Repair sag of papermodel

No need to apologize, I knew that was the risk. Hope you all can learn from my mistake. @zathros: First plan was to only fill the legs, but somewhere between planning and execution, the plan changed... after all, I had a full can of foam :-) Even low-expansion foam still expands a lot... I...

    Repair sag of papermodel

The technical sheet of the foam specified that the curing time is +/- 45 min. So after more than 2 hours, I thought it had finished reacting. The small hole at the belly probably got blocked due to hardened foam and the rest of the expanding foam could not escape anymore and probably caused the...

Step 2: insert foam in the model. Holes in the feet of the dino for the tube that will deliver the foam from the can. I used low expansion PU foam for this (1-component). Because the model is already completed and closed, it is impossible to evaluate the amount of foam that is inserted...

    Repair sag of papermodel

Meanwhile, I've covered the whole model with PVA glue and the result is remarkable... the dino is standing up again the way it was meant to be. Next time a pass by the shop, I'll buy some expanding foam and try to fill at least the legs with foam to avoid bending of the knees and to give some...

    Repair sag of papermodel

I'm not a diorama type of guy, so I'll stick to strengthening the ankles. After fixating the model in the desired position and adding PVA glue to the ankles, the dino is already standing up on by itself. I removed it then from the stand to be able to paint the underside as well. Side effect of...

    Repair sag of papermodel

Thank you guys for all the ideas! I think I'll try to strengthen the ankles first with some varnish. If that doesn't work, cutting open the soles of the feet and stuffing with a fill material will be option 2. I'll post some pictures with the result.

    Repair sag of papermodel

I thought about using some sort of fill material to prevent the paper around the ankle from buckling inwards. Not sure what is the best fill material for this, since ideally, it should be fluid for better spreading around, but not wet because it's paper. What material do you use for making the...

    Repair sag of papermodel

I made the T-rex model some time ago for my youngest daughter. However, now it starts sagging through its legs and it's mouth is now almost touching the ground. Any ideas how to repair this sag and lift the model back up to its original posture? How can I avoid this happening to other models in...

    Elsa (Frozen)

It took my about a month, but I have only around 7 to 8 hrs of "hobby time" per week. There is an Anna (http://sabi996.deviantart.com/art/Anna-and-Elsa-Frozen-Papercraft-445273373), but it is no longer available for free and she is not the correct size for the Elsa I build. The Elsa in the...
