    Idea in the works

I noticed that, but I believe that if I don't run overly long trains, I should be perfectly fine. I liked this design because I would actually be able to allow the trains to just run, for the watching enjoyment. Jacob

Thanks for the replys, I am thinking that this is going to be sort of a winter project, at least to get started on it. Now I just have to convince the other half to allow me the funding to do it. Jacob

    Whats your opinion.

Sounds about right, I really hope the two of us can keep an interest in the trains and be able to have fun in the hobby together for years to come. Jacob

    Whats your opinion.

It's been a while since I've been able to post, life really seems to get busy when you have a little one at home. He is almost 4 months old now, and loves just watching my train run around the basic loop, so I think it may be time to get going with building something. Jacob

Finally convinced the better half to give me some space in the basement, so I think I'll be cleaning, and if I'm lucky, starting on some benchwork. Jacob

    Current Project (junk yard)

For fencing you could use the net material that they make Bridal Vails out of. You can get it at most craft stores, and I believe that even Walmart carries it and you can buy it by in 1 foot sections and they are usually 45 or 54 inches wide. Then you could always give it a light coat of...

    Looking for Magazine

I am looking for a copy of Model Railroader from September 2001. Specifically the article on an building a N-Scale Layout in a coffee table. Does anyone have a copy they could scan and send to me, or atleast scan a few pictured of what they had as a completed project? Jacob

    Whats your opinion.

pgandw, thanks for the advice. I am more of the railfan type, as I love just sitting watching my train run. It will probably be some time befor I can get anything build, as I am still thinking about building a coffee table layout first, since my we are expecting out first child in the middle of...

    Whats your opinion.

Thanks glenn for the kinds words. Right now the only thing I think I may change is to make the passing track on the front a little longer by trying to put the turnouts in the corners if I can get them to position right. Jacob

    Whats your opinion.

I was reading throught the April Issue of MRR during lunch today, and thought about doing something more like this. It is a modified version of David Popp's Naugatuck Valley RR. I figure if I start with this, I should be able to add to it later if I can acquire more space. Comments...
