    Update on the layout

I would DEFINETLEY go with the mining complex. You can make anyhting fit into any space with a given amount of ingenuity. Definetly would work to have a wooded mountain to block the view of the train sometimes then have a roaming logging camp taking down trees for an incoming railroad spur...

    Mock-Up Buildings

Ok here is my problem. I inadvertantly brought up to my club members that i was an Autocadd junky and they came up with the brilliant idea of putting me in charge of Mock up buildings for our layout. The current ones at our club are so old i think they are begining to disintegrate. lol So i...

    Gondola Question

The last couple of days while driving over a bridge over some track for what used to be the Wisconsin Central I saw the wierdest thing. Every day now there is a new batch of gondolas containing the wierdest contents ever. Stood on their side sat about 8 switches. Completely intact just...

    Styrofoam Grade/Riser

That would be Woodland scenics. (I have a load of them sitting in the basement) I have to say I am not a fan of the things though the risers are time consuming if i may say. And for any tight curves it is hard to keep it in the curve desired while placing it down. Eric

    Questions about foam?

I am also in the process of creating my foam formations I went to the local Hobby Lobby and found huge 3'x6'x3" sheets of potting foam. They come in 6"x12" blocks and many different sizes. i bought 3 sheets and 10 blocks for $5.00 altogether. To hold the foam together I simply place a line...

Plaster Clth? Good, Bad, Or Ugly?

I just mustered up the courage to create the first corner mountain for my layout. It is set in the valley of a very large mountain. I decided to look around for products to use. And found a very cheap foam. It is potters foam but it came in large 3'x3'x3" peices as well as some bricks...
