Simply put, if operation is important to you, and cleaning track is a pain, UniTrack is the very best!!!! If a diarama with pretty track is what you want, UniTrack can be made to come close, but smaller rail size may outweigh the major advantages of UniTrack

How did you test them if they're "unopened and unused"?

When you tire of Atlas and Peco turnout problems. get UniTrack turnouts to replace them. They're bullet-proof. They'll work right out of the box and forever after. And, you don't ever have to clean the rails.

Absolutely no problems with UniTrack. Even better, it stays so clean you don't have to clean it at all. That alone rules out other track for me. I've done the track cleaning thing for far too many years. Now I just run my trains. If looks of the track is an issue for you, see the posts by John...

If you just want to try the idea. hook up the common terminal of a SPST toggle to the + terminal of a capacitor. Hook up the negative terminal of the capacitor to a Unitrack turnout. Connect one terminal of the DPDT to a + power supply and the other to the other wire from the Unitrack turnout...
