    Remote Switch voltage 027 tubular

Thanks a lot, Bill. I strongly suspect you are correct about the transformer not frying the switch motors with a little extra voltage. Otherwise, why would a reputable company like MRC make a transformer that's gonna fry switches? Makes no sense! But I once drove a Ford van with no second gear...

    Remote Switch voltage 027 tubular

So, this newbie (not near any hobby shop) ordered online and bought two Lionel remote 027 tubular track switches. Then I found out they use 15 V AC. So far, so good, but the MRC AC transformer I also ordered puts out 18 Volts fixed AC and 0-17.5 variable AC. Will this thing burn out the switch...

Newbie question again - fastrack switches

027 switches Thanks, David. I ended up getting O27 remotes. Much cheaper! On a loop to loop setup, the train (trolley here) will run through the switch the wrong way each and every time it uses each reversing loop. When the train enters the loop the "wrong" way, as it will on each pass...

Newbie question again - fastrack switches

Okay, again, I hope someone can help. Getting into O gauge, and want to set up a simple loop to loop layout. I am not sure Lionel 0-27 manual switches feature a non-derailing capability, preventing derailments when a train enters the switch from the "wrong" direction. It would be great to set up...

    Newbie question O27 switches

I hope you all will be patient with me. Can't seem to find the answer to this online. Thinking of setting up a small L-shaped loop to loop 0-27 trolley layout. Are manual switch tracks made so they will "float", and not have to be thrown each time the trolley passes? It would be nice to have a...
