    N Scale Bldg Kits.

Here's an older DPM kit I did. I usually try to use 3 or 4 different colors on a building because I think it looks more realistic and less flat. But I think the key is to keep everything in a similar color scheme. (Edit: Sorry...I don't know why the link is showing up and not the photo) I...

Free N Scale Signs and Printable Details

Thanks guys. I appreciate all the good feedback I've been getting. Just wish I had more time to model -- and more importantly -- I wish my local hobby store didn't close!

    N Scale Scratchbuilt DPM Interior

Thanks for the comments. I used the barrel because it's far enough to the back of the store and is viewblocked by several things to really just look like a small round table.

I've completed a scratchbuilt interior for an N scale men's clothing store that I've been working on. This was designed to fit inside of DPM's corner apothecary kit. Here's how I've constructed it: - The flooring of this interior is a small counter top sample of Formica freely available from...

Free N Scale Signs for Men's Clothing Store

Correction Sorry to anyone who grabbed these signs. I had them posted up at 72pdi -- which made them like 18" wide and definately out of scale. I've corrected them to be 300dpi -- so they're now about 4" across or so and now in scale. Sorry again.

    Copyright

Just out of curiousity....does anyone know the answer to this? What allows a model railroading company to reproduce trademarked symbols and material without being in violation of copyright and other laws? For example....you can buy billboards and signs of real companies...Coca Cola, Greyhound...

    Lighting Crash Course

I've been steering away from LEDs because I just don't think they have the same look as incandescent. And I have a BOX of these little tiny (grain of wheat, maybe) bulbs that someone gave me...so I might as well use them. I think they look really good...so I was just trying to figure the...

    Lighting Crash Course

I keep asking lighting questions, but I'm just not getting it. Maybe someone can answer some pretty basic questions.... I'm using miniature bulbs that light at 1.5v (using a battery). They also work at 3v, but are very bright. I'm sticking with the 1.5 because it looks better and hopefully...

    Train Graveyard

Most of the equiptment is owned by a functioning freight company, but they only use a couple of the engines. Don't know why they purchased the rest. I didn't climb inside any of them -- they have a trailer that the company operates out of. And while the guy was very nice about me taking...

    Train Graveyard

Actually....I'm so interested in this now that I've been searching the Web for more info. Here's what I found out about the NYC FA. That unit is reportedly owed by the Anthracite Historical Society. The NYC paint job was temporary, added for a showing, but not its original. Therefore, I...
