    Railroad Identification

I suspect the TP&W stands for the Toledo, Peoria & Western railroad. This railroad is located in central Illinois and Indiana, running (as the slogan suggests) east-west. Despite the railroad's name, the closest the railroad gets to Toledo, Ohio is Logansport, Indiana.

PRODUCTS YOU WANT AND CAN'T GET.

A correction to a previous posting of mine: Photographs of Southern GP30's in the June 2001 issue of Railroad Model Craftsman show the bell mounted on the short hood.

PRODUCTS YOU WANT AND CAN'T GET.

For this model, my interest would be locomotive #529 in its (I suspect) original scheme, meaning non-blue. I photographed the locomotive in Windsor, Ontario in 1971 and since the locomotive had the same number as the LST (Landing Ship Tank) my father served on, I've always wanted a model of that...

seeking passenger cars 20th Century Ltd.

One might want to investigate the possibility of having the cars (whatever the make) illuminated. The 20th Century ran mostly at night. I suppose if you're modeling Chicago or New York City on June 21st, interior lighting wouldn't be necessary. Also, wouldn't an engine change (electric to...

PRODUCTS YOU WANT AND CAN'T GET.

I'd like to see a proto 2000-like HO GP30 with a high-hood, Norfolk & Western style. Southern style too. I believe the major difference (and it wouldn't be too "major") is which end the bell is placed:N&W-short hood, Southern-long hood.

    Off the tracks

Other interests? Aside from railfanning and photography (photo-taking is a part of railfanning for me), I've got a lot of friends who are blues musicians and we do what we can to "keep the groove alive." Lines do blur, for example I have an operator's manual for GG-1 locomotives which I...

HO Slot Cars with your HO Trains?

I recall in the October and November 1969 issues of Model Railroader a layout based on the Toronto, Hamilton & Buffalo which had slot cars. From the photos the cars appeared to be Aurora's Model Motoring. I suppose this could be an example of what could be done, I haven't seen anything like it...
