My screen name "Dayton" was a loco from the V+T. Absolutly my most favorite line ever. The Minden area would have had some trees for sure since the Walker river goes thru there. Gardenerville right next to Minden would have too. Lots of cows there. Virginia City it's self was pretty darn barren...

You can also mix different colors of ballast to achieve your own look. I mix dark brown with about half as much gray and add a little bit of black to it and I really like it. Of course it would depend on your layout as to what colors you would want to use.

spray the perimeter of the structure and bomb the inside. That should do it for a while. They will come back...they always do! LOL!

Not that I need them, I have plenty,but sometimes guys just give stuff like that to each other. No offense meant. Kinda a good will thing between modeling buddies.

The nice thing is that the Wal Mart prices are a couple of bucks compared to Walthers. Worth the trip and the price difference.

Since it's my world, I'm going with 1900 thru about 1955. Why? Cause I love steam engines and there are some early diesels that I like. I don't count rivets like some guys, and thats cool for them, I love to see their work. I just like running the trains and building the scenery.

I've seen a bunch of 1/87 scale cars at .....are you ready for this? Wal-Mart. They had a bunch of that era muscle cars. They may have what your looking for.

5'x10' HO layout in my garage. Yep, it gets dusty and tarnished and I just clean it and run the trains!:mrgreen: I would lay it out differently if I was to do it over, but since I haven't finished it yet I'll just keep going the direction I am.:thumb: I would of liked to have put more operations...
