    Tuning the new Atlas-Shay

The 903's are Z scale coupler kits. If you want them already put together, you then want 905's. They are from Mirco Trains the N scale part of Kadee. BTW it is mounted in the stock threaded hole. The back of teh box was cut off like this: http://www.railimages.com/albums/chrisschmuck/agd.jpg...

    Bachman 2-8-0 Consolidation Opinions

Sam, You got the order correct. On the right is the kato mike. In the middle is the B-mann 2-8-0 And on the left is a 2-6-2 logging locomotive I bashed out of the new Atlas 2-6-0. You can see more photos of how I made the 2-6-2 here...

    Bachman 2-8-0 Consolidation Opinions

I have a B-mann 2-8-0 and a kato 2-8-2. Kato runs a little bit smoother and the B-mann runs a little bit slower. Both are great locomotives. http://www.railimages.com/gallery/chrisschmuck

    Atlas Shay

I ordered 2 undecorateds and they didn't show up yet so I can't confirm anything, but I have read that the boiler is a cast metal part and that the whole locomotive is pretty heafty. There "should" be room for flywheel, but I am curious about this also.

    Atlas Shay

You are thinking like a steam engine, but the insides of the shay are just like a regular diesel locomotive. You don't need traction tires on a GP-9 so why would the shay need them?
