    semi-modular problem

Floating layout? Build your sections with enough wood and foam and you just let the layout float when the flood waters come in.sign1

    N scale cork roadbed problem

Matte cutter? For cutting angle after glueing cork down, you might consider using a matte board cutter. Found this after a quick google search: Handheld and Freehand Cutters - Blick Art Materials

    N scale cork roadbed problem

What I have usually found when you seperate the cork roadbed - one 45 is fairly smooth and the other rough. I use the half with smooth 45 towards the front of layout, put the other to the rear. After glueing with full strength Elmer's, I just use a Surform tool to smooth out the rough side. Does...

module stackers Give me a couple days, and I'll get you some pictures of the endplate stackers we use for the NEONS modules.

    Walk Thu Module

NEONS gateway module The "gateway" we have in the Tulsa club uses 3 (one for each line) normally open push buttons for our interlock system. Our gate swings up, so gravity does a good job of closing our gate completely. N Scale Railroading had an article on our gateway, and I think the photos...

    carrying/transport case for modules

Rattle On our club modules, all of our legs hinged to fold up under the module. When setup, we have an angle brace on each leg (just a strip of 1/8' steel attached to the leg on one end and a hole on the other that slips over a pin on the module base with a hitch pin retainer.) The angle...

Joining two layouts togheter How do you join the track.

Ballasted joiner tracks Our local N-trak club uses ballasted joiner tracks. Rather that styrene, we use duct tape on the bottom of the tracks. Either way ballasting the joiner tracks "hides" them considerably. One suggestion if you go this route, add a few inches of styrene/duct tape under...

    carrying/transport case for modules

Consider the rattle factor Just a quick thought on your free-floating panels. They may rattle going down the road. I only mention this because I drove from Tulsa to San Diego with 5 N-trak modules in my Expedition last summer. Forgot to vibration proof them on the way out, definately didn't...

    Ntrak limitations

For N-trak at shows For N-trak use at shows the modules would have to have the 2 mains and the branch line, because each loop has it's own power supply/throttle, electrically isolated from the others.. Each line can follow a separate path (not to exceed 24" radius on mains and 18" on branch)...

    Gauge NASCAR Fantasy League

My strategy All I did last year was run the 3 drivers that were highest in the standings. Never know which one of the four is going to have a bad day. And at the start of last year's season, the Roush teams were dropping engines all over the place. Didn't run Edwards at Dayton because he was...

My strategy from last year Sounds like I'll have to root for Dwight's team. Hopefully the all Roush team can pull it off this year. Sorry, I missed the league this year. Been having 'puter problems. Good luck all.
