    Couplers & Remote Operation

Last month I read a review of new tool available for uncoupling. It looked like a stick with a magnet; I also think it had a screwdriver. It sold in the $6-$7 range. Long story short, I can no longer find the magazine. Did anyone else see this and can you tell me who makes it. The review...

    Foam Question

The foam my local Home Depot in NJ had was InsulFoam (sp) by Dow. It is white with a blue plastic sheet on one side and silver on the other. Has anyone else used this and do I need to remove the plastic covers? It looks like the stuff they used in the World's Greatest Hobby DVD. Thanks.

    Converting a John Armstrong Plan

I just finished reading 18 Tailor-Made Model Railroad Track Plans by John Armstrong. There are two plans in there I really like, and might want to follow. The problem I have is that they do not give you a parts list or a good explanation of what some of the notations on the plans mean. I'm...

We came up through Nebraska and took Rt. 2 through the Sand Hills up to Alliance. along Rt. 2 we saw a lot of trains that looked like they were pulling coal. Need Sides On My Benchwork

I had not even thought that my GodSon will get a kick out of these trains. Thanks for the tip, he's a good kid, but a little rambunctious as are most 4 year olds.

    Need Sides On My Benchwork

Thanks everyone for the help. I have to tell you I'm new at this and model rr's, no matter what forum (I troll through many) have to be the friendlies and most helpful of any I've found on the net. From computers to music to pin collecting I'm active in a lot of places and usually newbies on...

    Need Sides On My Benchwork

I want to mount it to the 3/4" plywood. I think some wood screws would work, the plexiglass is a great idea. I'm going to Lowes tonight to pick up a Dremel, I'll see if they have any. I'm thinking 1 1/2" wood screws to attach it. Sound right to you?

    Need Sides On My Benchwork

I need to put up sides, about 3-4 inches high on some of my benchwork because the track gets very close to the edge. I am not a carpenter and I would love some advice on the best way to do this. Thanks.

    EZ Track and control blocks

I am attempting to create control blocks with EZ track. Now I’m stuck looking for help. I purchased Atlas insulated rail joiners and left the outside track as my common track. Also purchased an Atlas selector. Then I did the following. I have three control blocks. I used EZ track...

    Decisions and Dilemmas...

Not sure where to post this, so I thought I'd give the on30 folks first crack. Here's my dilemma. Having received an on30 Hawthorne set for Christmas I decided to give model rr'ing a try. So far I'm doing OK, and I'm picking up on some of the terminology. My problem is that I have discovered...
