Hi,
and first of all: HELP!

I will try to build the Blaster of Han Solo created by UHU02. I don´t know whether I am able to make it.
Only 6 pages but I think it might be a little too tricky for me. Therfore my cry for help.

If I will be successful I will recolour the model, as I can see many folding lines and gluing residues on my parts.
So now pictures of the parts of the first page - so far so good.

Second page: now the troubles start.
first problem the big part is: crooked and inaccurate.
Second problem the two small parts - I do not know where to put.
Maybe there is someone who already did this model and is able to provide some tips.

In the meantime I will print once again for a second tryal (with support I hope).

Oooh, I hate that when it happens, I have been known to throw partly completed models away....

UHU's Black Pearl met that fate after I botched the lower sections of the hull

I could suggest printing these parts on thicker paper, that might reduce the twist?

I haven't built this one, see if UHU has uploaded directions?

:) ...nice build again...
I had a look if this would be buildable for real... (after seeying Adam savage build one in a few minutes)
but some parts are to difficult to find..(for me)..
And the price of it all was a little high..

I have looked at this gun...but the 'wooden'grip looks WAY to difficult..
but when you can pull this off , you have a very nice blaster.

@ cybergrinder: yes Uhu has provided an instruction but I don't see some parts where to put
nevertheless thx
@ dnalor: it is a nice blaster - when and if finalized;-) I will do my best, but at the moment it
looks very difficult - although pictures of UHU exist.

I think the thicker paper might help with the twist as well as careful, patient gluing. I have a tendency to want to glue too many tabs at once and things get out of whack.

Secondly, you might consider Zip Dry glue. One of the nice things about that glue is that if you get glue smears or over-glue a joint, you can rub that area and the glue will ball up without damaging the paper -- as long as you haven't waited too long, say, more than a minute or two.

Lastly, consider coloring the edges. The Greedo Killer is mostly dark so you could get away with using a single dark grey Sharpy to color almost all the edges and you'd end up with a lot more realistic looking model. Those white paper edges would fade away and bring out the detail of the model.

I think I average about one reprint page in three when I'm doing a model. I usually screw up something and have to reprint and remake a part fairly often.

Your cuts look precise. I think you're well on your way to a great model there.

@ X-Bobble: Thanks for your tips.
Thick paper - I already use.
Gluing - yes too many tabs might be a problem - I know it already, but I cannot always avoid;-(
Zip Dry - if my meaning is the same - it is not easy to put on small parts. Furtermore some models are without gluing
tabs and for these models it does not work. No advantage without disadvantage.
Colouring: I will definitiv colour not only the edges - if I manage to finalize.
Reprint: - I often do - especially for model I really like.

Again- thank you so much.
Further tips very welcome.

Okay, okay - I have to admid it is a plastic model.
I won´t give up, but I think this model will take time to be finalized. At the moment working on the grasp.
Pictures to follow when and if finalized.
