I have started to add a sub-category for uncoloured/B&W models to certain categories (both Star Trek and BSG). That way these models will have a place to be posted (within their respective categories) without getting lost in all of the rest
If you would like to add an uncoloured/B&W model to the RESOURCE Section and there is not a sub-category, please send me a PM and I will add it ASAP for you.

Thank you and ENJOY!!!

Send the P.M. before you post anything, so we can keep this nice and tidy!

Don't feel limited by the genres either, B&W line models save ink, and offer a way of making some really convincing models. :)

That's a really great idea to test a model build before you print the colored version to save ink (yep, I'm cheap that way!). It can also help you work through the build to be sure you understand it and don't make the mistakes on the 'real' build!

It would be good I think to have some of the simpler models (cars and houses come immediately to mind) for a kid's project. Let them paint or color either before or after it's built. If the child is old enough, they can also build it. This would make a great Sunday School, boys or girls group, vacation Bible School, summer camp, demonstration (etc.) project.

Best Regards,

Best Regards,

It is interesting that you had mentioned projects for children. I have been playing around with the idea of a "Kids Korner" (yes, I know I spelled corner wrong. I wanted it to be an "eye catcher" for parents.), that have projects specifically for children.

man that is a GREAT idea, and thank you and Zathros for actively orchestrating this parallel running rabbit trail to the mainstream paper and card models that are already pre artworked. So awesome. :)

I really like that "Kid's Korner" idea. I like it a lot. It scares me a bit though. I would think that participation in a kids corner will require some serious vetting. If we set up a kids corner, I want to be able to track any person involved down, if need be, and without much effort, if you know what I mean. All personal contact information, and confirmed. I like the spelling "Kids Korner", that has a nice ring to it.

In all seriousness though, maybe because of my past employment and the modus operadi of some particularly evil people, this would be a "Locked Down" forum within a forum section. Read Only for most members. It's not that I don't trust most people here, it's just when it comes to some things, I don't trust anybody. We'll sort it out, and with input from very trusted, proven members. I have3 friends in Homeland Security" and might be able to have a list of people who wish to participate, and agree to being scrutinized, checked out.

If that seems too intrusive, then Rhaven and I will "Run it". No chances taken with kids. :)

On the flip side, I would like an "Adult Section". Not pornographic stuff, but some stuff that I consider artful, but others might not. Bass Relief paper models. Kind of hard to explain. I made a few and the people I made them for framed them and put them up in their bedroom.

Just to clarify the "Kids Korner" idea. What I am thinking about, is having a section reserved in the RESOURCE Section devoted to models designed specifically for children, so that they are not lost amongst all of the rest of the models in the RESOURCE Section.
I was not thinking about having a forum section for children, because of the same reasons that Zathros is thinking of. Not only that, but there is an "age limit" for registering as a member here just for these specific reasons. With that being said, this is still a "FAMILY FRIENDLY", where a parent (or guardian) can have his/her child (regardless of age) view the site (and have that child be able to ask for a particular model for their birthday, Christmas, or what ever reason ;)) and not worry about the content of the forum as a whole .
Zathros and I will talk this over and hammer out the details of such.

Rhaven and I have hammered out that there should be a "Kids Corner", and I personally think that's a great name for it. Zealot is already a great family forum. I guess this means, since as usual, no one here fights, or acts like jerks, I can go back to sleep!! :p
