Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,

Here is the "Battlestar Galactica Eastern Alliance Destroyer (Kerin Class)".
The mesh of the Destroyer was designed by David Kerin (hence the "Kerin" Class).
(*NOTE* This version was not used in the original episode that featured the Eastern Alliance.)
This model was designed by Revell-Fan. This project is a collaborated effort between Revell-Fan, Rogerio, and myself.

I am currently doing a test build on this model.
I am starting with the command module and will be working my way back through the ship as I go along.

These photos will be (for the most part) used in developing the instructions as well.

So ENJOY!!!

Thank you for jumping in on this one! :)

I unfolded the mesh nearly a year ago and Rogerio had started the alpha build. However, due to a massive lack of time and the unpredictable ways of life he was unable to complete it. Nevertheless, he helped me find some issues which I was able to correct.

The original CG model (mesh and texture) was created by David Kerin and can be found here:
http://battlestarfanfilms.com/resources.htm

This model looks like a light version of the well-known EAD seen in the original TV show. I had to fix some texture and mesh errors, added missing faces and removed all intersections. RB is supplying me with the necessary information to further improve the kit so that it can be enjoyed by everyone soon.

Two of the biggest issues with this model were that it was not symmetrical and that it was not designed for papercrafting. These are the main reasons why the unfold looks a bit different from previous unfolds I made. I corrected many of the mistakes by mirroring certain parts but some still remained (especially on the head). Don't worry, it won't be noticable on the assembled model. So far I've got plenty of information from Rogerio and RB to improve the parts so that they are easier to build. I'll make the changes on-the-fly. I'm very glad that both of them have (had) got the time (and patience) to tackle this bird, even the small and fiddly parts. :)

Guys, just passing by to drop a line. First, I'd like to apologize for taking such a long time to work on the model, and for NOT completing it. In this meantime (if I can put it that way), I have moved, work has turned from an earthly paradise to a living hell, and I wrote a book. That was something I just HAD to do, otherwise, I wouldn't be able to sleep.
I wrote about 240 (A5, Times New Roman 11, single spacing) pages in less than two months. Unfortunately, it's in Portuguese...
Second, I would like to congratulate Revell Fan for unfolding such a great model, and Rhaven Blaack for working on it, making a wonderful work (as usual).
I am sorry to let you guys down. Nevertheless, as a certain T-800 once said: "I WILL BE BACK"!
I'll try to follow this as close as possible.

Rogério

HOHOHOHOHOHOHOH... Please, man, easy! I can't say that I'm really back. Not for now. I intend to come back in small steps. But I'll be watching from a bit afar.
Once again: I'm terribly sorry for letting you guys down. ZEALOT is still a family to me, please allow me to keep on staying here.
Thanks a lot for your (everlasting) comprehension!

Dear Rogério,

it is so good to hear (or better: read) a life sign from you! :) You are sorely missed but we all understand that life comes first. You have in no way let anybody down. On the contrary. Feel free to drop by on occasion (only to let us know that you are still fine ;) ). And don't worry, there are still plenty of models waiting for you to test-build! :D

We all wish you the best of luck. Take care and stay healthy! :)

By all means, take your time and do all that you need to. As Revell-Fan said, you have not let anyone down, Real- Life comes.
I am glad that you popped it to let us know that you are well and everything is OK. By all means, please pop in more often (even if it is just to say "HI").

Take care of yourself and do not be a stranger!!!

Revell-Fan made the needed changes, so I have started over from square one. Not only that but I realized with the order that I was building is was slightly off and it started a cascade of problems for my right off the bat. The build is very straight forward (as with all of Revell-Fan's projects).

So here are the build photos (as promised, and in the right order as this project should be built):

Please stay tuned to your local Colonial Fleet Broadcast channels for further updates as they come in.

Thank you!

This build is fairly easy. You just have to take your time and everything easily falls right into place (so far that is).

Here are more photos:

Here is the last of what I have so far.
As you can see, the command module is finished and I started on the main body tube.

Great work, I actually watched BSG-TOS originally broadcast and loved the EA Destroyer. Looking forwards to seeing it come together.

Please remember, this one is a bit different from the one that was in the original episode. So please do not be disappointed when you see the finished product!!!
