In my own personal opinion, please, let me stress that, that Vengeance is the most unimaginative Star Trek model I have seen. It is meh. I have heard this by others so I don't think it will be high on anyone's list, but then again, you never know. :)
Qmx is releasing a model of the Vengeance.

I don't want to link to their site because that could be seen as advertising, so I give you a quote from their site:

Our screen-accurate Artisan replica is 1:1600 scale and measures 36 inches long x 18 inches wide x 8.5 inches high (14 inches high when mounted on the base). She is our largest Artisan replica to date.
And guess how much it is ...

Your Price: $9,995.00

According to this it is far more reasonable to turn it into a paper model (IMO; no matter how ugly the ship is  )...

Well, I know nothing will really come of this, but I'd really like to bring this thread back. I've had yet another change of heart on the scale for the model... 1/1000. That would make the length of the model a staggering TWO FEET! This would unfortunately mean that lots of supports would have to be built for the exterior of the ship. After my last pos, I really hoped that we could get this project moving, but it appears nobody really checked out the link, so... I'm bringing it back. Like I mentioned before: that 3d model looks very build able, especially at this scale... So , I'll just wait and see what happens

I haven't seen the model yet, but I know you won1t be kept in vacuum. I'm not so good in paper modeling to it, but I may even give it a try, once I've got space enough to do it.
Please, not deadlines, since all of my projects are on hold now, till I can resume my "paper duties".
All the best,

Rogério

Thanks!

Cool! I'm sure you'll do a great job; your build of UHU's enterprise inspired me to try building it again

Thank you for that. I really appreciate it. Please, feel free to ask any questions you want about that build. I have tried to document everything, including errors and solutions to them, but if you have any doubt, I'll be more than happy to discuss it with you.
All the best,

Rogério

if you need any reference pics, check here: http://www.trekbbs.com/showthread.php?t=210949 he has a very detailed blender model that seems too high-poly for a papermodel. or here: http://forums.filefront.com/st-a2-m.../451401-dreadnought-class-vengeance-stid.html he has a very low-poly render designed for gaming use. I pm'd him on the forums there, but he hasnt been online since August, so who knows. I think that his saucer design looks very nice though. Will try to find more info.

PS If you want i can take screencaps of various parts of the ship for you.

no: neither of them have released models yet. both links have WIP images of the ship... the trekbbs one has extremely helpful-looking ones that show his progress every step of the way... if you want the trekbbs link, just search "New Build, USS Vengeance from Star Trek XII" with Google and it should be the first result

This thread brings back memories of back when I was trying to gauge support for a detailed model of the Scimitar from Nemesis. That was also considered an ugly duckling that not many really cared for.

The Vengeance is one I can't make up my mind about. i like it from certain angles, but then you see it from a different angle and it makes your eyes hurt. I hate coming across a design that makes you love it and hate it to the point where you don't know how you feel. LOL!
