So once again I'm doing another model of the ship I'm helping to restore. I've had plans to do a larger, more serious and more detailed model ever since I made that paper toy of the ship about a year ago.

My "boss", Mary Habstritt sent me over some deck plans and a starboard elevation of the ship which was used in the vessel's entry into the NRHP and was taken from the June 1934 edition of Marine Engineering and Shipping Age.

Again, I am aiming to depict the ship as she appears today, which I guess is more or less a "marketing" decision so people can more easily recognize this model as being that of the Lilac.

The model will come in two versions: a "Lilac Exclusive Edition" which will be more detailed and include display base and buoys, and the internet release, which I will put on my site. The internet release will have a few details removed and will not include a base or buoys.

That ship has beautiful lines. I'd love to get some drawings of her, especially any of the formers, if available. Looking forward to this. :)

So my current plan for this model is for me to upload the entire thing on my site and leave it free for download for maybe a month or so, after which point I'll take it off, and the only way to acquire it is through the ship's giftshop.

..of course, for friends on the forums, I can always link you guys to the master file ;)
