Hey guys! I'm just trying out new forums etc. I just want to see which one offers the best support, community etc. A lot of the forums and stuff I see now-a-days are a few years old, and the links to the pepakura files and what not are invalid. Hopefully this place has some life in it! Hope to see you all around, looking forward to seeing everybody's work!

Thanks for saying hi
Jesse

Hello and welcome to the forum.
I would say that this forum has quite a bit of life in it. and offers a great deal of support to all of the members.
This is a place where like minded people come to share information, thoughts, ideas, tips & techniques to help promote this hobby and to help those who are new to it.
So by all means, jump in, look around, post some comments, ask questions, and what all we have to offer. You may be (pleasantly) surprised at what all you will find.

Is there a particular genre that you are interested in?

If you have any questions, comments, concerns, need help or advice, please feel free to ask. We will do what we can to help (or at least point you in the right direction).

Once again, welcome aboard. I hope that you enjoy yourself here.

I look forward to seeing your work.

Who said there's no fight? We fight to know who supports more, and also for who encourages more! sign1 sign1 sign1

Jokes appart, Zathros is absolutely right. I've never been to such an encouraging, friendly environment as here. Whenever I tried something new, I always had a word of encouragement, and people to help me out with ideas, tips and techniques (specially when it didn't work and I thought all was lost...).

ZEALOT is SPECIAL because WE (INCLUDING YOU) make it so. :thumb: :thumb:

Welcome to THE place for hobbies, man!

we have 1182 files ready for download.U found the best place on paper modeling world.

Just make sure your posts balance out what you Download, very very important. No filler posts either. We want to see people with real interest taking what the members are giving for free so, ZEALOT, as a forum, so far has around 1182 models to download, not "We".

I think this is a great forum too, there are some other good ones too, and their links can be found here. :)

Absolutely! Sounds great! I will try and contribute as much as I can, I just wish I was able to do 3D modeling, or even really figured out how to unfold so I could contribute some new files. All I can do right now is just show some of my work haha. 1182 sounds like a daunting number and I can't wait to take a crack at them!

Well I guess if I had to pick, I'd say I'm here mainly for some Pepakura support. That's what my focus on is right about now though. Possibly moving on to some of the vehicle mini models. I really just love challenges and puzzles. So I think that papercraft is pretty much the place to get the challenges haha. I'm only about 2 builds in... so not many completed projects, but thats going to change! I don't know if I'm going to move on to foam builds, but I might. I have some experience scratch building objects out of foam. Time will tell my friend haha.

Man, you can learn, you know? I learned to model in Blender, and produced a model that I couldn't find anywhere. BTW, that was the main reason I taught myself how to do it. And then I did a simple version of the Sting (LOTR, Hobbit) sword (actually, it's a dagger) for my kid.
So far, the first model (Groizer X - Space Pirate) is in its alpha test build, but I had to stop all my projects, because I've just moved to another house. I'm in a temporary mix of living hell and chaos, but I know this will soon come to an end.
What I'm trying to say here is that I'm no genius, but I managed to learn how to model, texture and unfold a model (I can't forget the help I've received HERE!!!) in Blender, and it's all out there in the internet for you to read an learn. And there are many people here to help, too!
If I can do it, man, then ANYONE can!
All the best, :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
