As I am new to the art of papercraft, for now I'm just focused on learning to build existing models, which is why internet browsing I found pages like paper-replika.com, IRP.com, etc.. long before you, where I downloaded some models legally free to start with the construction of the same.

As a designer I am not yet, it's wrong to show my work as a builder of such models without consider me a pirate?

What we do not want is to make mistakes, or to be misunderstood.

Greetings again

Saludos nuevamente

if I understand correctly, you are saying it's not right to show pictures of your builds of other peoples models?

its not being a pirate if you build free models and show the pics.
selling free models to others is being a pirate.

Hmmmm...

its not being a pirate if you build free models and show the pics.

Some people here agree with that, others don't. If you ask my opinion, I don't think you should sell what you get for free.
Many people here will say that they've spent money to print the model sheets, and did spend a lot of time, effort, paint, glue and other tools to build it, and so it would entitle them to sell the models. I beg to disagree, because someone has also spent a lot of time to design, test build, fix, rebuild and fix it until it gets right, and then kindly give his/her model for nothing.

BUT THAT IS MY OPINION. I DO NOT, REPEAT, I DO NOT REPRESENT ZEALOT NOR ANY OTHER MEMBER HERE BUT MYSELF.

I just ask myself: what would happen if UHU02 decided to charge for his unbelievably fantastic models? How much would that (priceless) art cost? I myself have an Enterprise, it's the greates model I've ever built... AND IT'S FREE!!!

But if you know someone who wants to sell free model sheets, then you're right, that's piracy, and that's TOTALLY against the rules. Check them.

If you sell a model that you have built to someone, that you obtained free, just give them a copy of the file, then charge for the completed free model. There is nothing wrong with selling a completed model. It is done often and for people who cannot build models. There is no money to make on this but there is nothing wrong with charging with your labor, paints and glue , and your overall time. Just as long as you include the fee file copy and don't take care credit for the design.

You get the model free, but you don't get the paper, glue, and time to build free. Just represent what you are doing properly.

Be careful about piracy conversations because I have yet met anyone who has the right to build any of the models shown on this forum, i.e. Paramount, for Star Trek, Lucas Arts: for Star Wars, the list goes on. There are no lawyers here. and on that note, use common sense . I am closing this threadd because this topic has been beat to death. Thanks. :)
