Not sure why the forks are so loose but that is a big challenge. It should look great. At that size, I would consider using wood dowels for the forks and other "non paper" materials, you will need them for a sturdy model. :)

Four times bigger? That would probably be the only way I could successfully build one, with ham hands. This will be interesting to watch.

I like to scale models up too. It's something that is economical to do in paper, but big models in plastic cost a fortune. I think there are fork sliders that will take care of the front end. :)

If the forks are a bit loose, maybe you could fill them with something, like some small pieces of thin paper (75gsm). Just an idea, and you've probably already thought of that.
