Too bad... But I respect that. If you don't feel comfrotable releasing it, then I'll do the only two things I can: admire your beautiful work and hope that someday I'll be able to catch up with you in quality.
Meanwhile, I would like to thank you for sharing this. Although I'm not a "ship guy", I do love ships (big ones!), and this thread has really caught up my attention. :thumb: :thumb:

I need to back peddle, I may release it, but it would be very limited and I need to know that person would build it. Enough of that for now. I need to finish it first! :)

Maybe u can release the model in parts. Built the 1st part to get the 2nd, 3rd and so on. Or... built this and get a "special" model u will not release to anyone. Just a thought.

Is there a Tugboat data base somewhere I can look for blueprint or profile, free or paid?

Hey, goodduck, that's a great idea! :thumb: :thumb:  That's something we would call MBO ("Management By Objectives") in PM (Project Management). Way to go!

No Tugboat database I know of. I lofted this hull off of the lofting lines, Those aren't toohard to find. I had a "fun time" with the control points, trying to get the after section of the hulll done. This being a twin screw model, made it a bit more difficult. I should build the hull before I continue but will probably get all the fiddly little parts first. I am working now on my M.G. car every day and haven't got much time for card modeling.

Turns out the front leaf spring mounts have disintegrated, so I am fabricating. I don't know why they used such thin wall stuff. I am will "Americanizing" these suspension points with a much thicker gauge steel.

Looking good, Zathros! We really don't see enough of your own stuff around here! :thumb:

I Thank You very much. I really have to get the steam up on this one. I hurt my right hand. Don't know what I did but a couple of fingers aren't working and hurt like the dickens if I press on them.

I think the M.G. is biting back. I have just purchased a 36" sheet metal brake. I got to get back to this tug. I need to make the formers next. Thanks for your interest! :)

So far so god on the design. Can't wait for the unfolding to begin.

Unfolding is done for the most part. That picture is missing some superstructure parts that I am revisiting. Lots of itty bitty parts to go. I unfolded the platform with the spot light, but will probably be making that out of metal. The Hull may end up being sheet metal too. No sure on that yet. :)

Bottom formers sections done. This could give an option for a waterline model, but I am not to into those, though they are great for dioramas, a necessity actually. Much tweaking is needed. Seems like two steps back for every one forward. The upper sections are next. wall1

I do listen to Zathros...

That's great, man. The "one forward and two backwards" thing is probably the main characteristic when modeling something from scratch. Not that I'm a skilled modeler, but it also happened in my first (and only, so far) attempt to model. You do know a lot more about it than I do, given your experience.
But man, does that look fabulous! Your work is detailed, but fast-paced; clean, and yet bold.
I'm following this with full interest!
All the best!

I think all people who design things , whatever it may be, go through this. Since this is going to be big, I want it to be right. Thanks for your interest Rogerio! :)
