hi i am new to zealot and i live in central england. i make card and matchstick models of railway locomotives to a scale of 20 to 1. i have produced 17 so far. each one takes me about a year to make. the big ones are about 4 foot long. i have done many exhibitions with them and i have three on loan to a steam railway museum. card modeling is not that popular in the uk so it will be nice to comunicate with people with a similar interest. i intend to upload some photo/albums of them when i figure out how to do it. all my models are built from scratch using scale drawings and photographs. so far i have not come across anyone doing this to the same scale and detail as i do. i think i have added 2 photos but i am not sure.

Welcome aboard and the railroader section will definitely love to see some more of your models. Those are fantastic builds that you have posted and we hope that you will treat us to some more works. As for having few card modelers in the United Kingdom, There are many modelers here who hail from the mother country

Please be sure to read up up on the rules and policies participating with comments in the forum. There is a 4 week waiting period for the download freebies but it is worth the wait. Browse and check out the build threads and in the process, you will find links to readily available models such as http://www.ss42.com/ On the top left, you will find a link to free paper toys and that will bring you to a categorized by genre models. Enjoy and see you around the forum.

I don't think I have ever seen matchbook models of this quality. I have seen many but this really "takes the cake". I too would love to see more of your models. You can upload the pictures by going to the "Advanced Mode", and select "Manage Attachments", then navigate to the picture on your hard drive and it will upload. If you use a photo hosting company, just click on the "Yellow" Button above, with the little mountain range and black dot for a Sun and paste the "url" into it, and that will connect to your pictures. You can link to larger photos that way.

Wonderful work, beyond words! :)

Welcome aboard prm57.

Would love to see more of your work, in detail!!!
That first pic of the 'rusty hulk' looks damn REAL!!!! If it wasnt for the pebble-dashed wall behind it, I wouldnt know the difference!!!!

The Railway section of this forum needs a kick up the butt, as it is a bit on the quiet side. But, if you start posting this sort of work there, I think everybody will be coming to look at it!!!

Beautiful work!!!

Enjoy yourself here, and HAVE FUN, that is the most important!! :thumb:

See you around the forum!!
