When I first saw this car, I loved the lines. I thought if I could get permission, ( and Mauther has graciously given permission to do so). I would like to envision it the way that I see it. It has a ways to go, but here's a peek. :)

Yes, I plan to release it to release it to Mauther, and have it downloadable here also. I would like it to be detailed. :)

Working on the frame. Going with a 1930's era Ford front end.

Hello, John,

I think I don`t deserve credits in your model, because it is completelly new. You make a new model! It is yours and I really apreciate this. If you can edit the post, please, do it. I will feel better. The credits are all yours!

All the best, John!

Greetings from Brazil!

Mauther

I can't deny the fact that I feel proud whenever there's a Brazilian involved in such a project, or even was one of the "fathers" of it. I've visited Mauther's page, and seen the quality of his models. Beautiful!
Like I said, I'm not very much into cars, but I think I'll have to make an exception for this one... But what am I saying? My first paper models were Claudio Dias's Batmobile and Mach 5...

Mauther has been an inspiration to me with the variety and quality, the artful, colorful nature of his models, and his propensity to give his work away freely. I do not make models. I have helped many people make their models and have designed parts for many people. When I saw Mauther's original Sports Car, I though it would be a nice model to take o a new level, and also to honor his great contribution to the worldwide modeling community. So, in a sense, he is correct, it is not the car he drew, but it is inspired by his generosity, and styling points. I think anyone looking at it can see the inspiration,,and anyone knowing Mauther's million model quest, knows what I am trying to express. :)

Good work so far in the schematics stage. Waiting to see how you are going to tackle the compound curves. How detailed will be the front axle, brake drums, tie rods and so forth? Waiting to see the outcome.

Actually, everything unfolds. There really aren't any compound curves. It is an illusion set by running a crease on top of the fenders. The front spring will be a simple Ford 1930's Leaf spring set up, simple steering knucles. I will probably use two part epoxy for some of those parts. It gives that "cast" look. :)

I am going for a 1930's style Ford front end. Very common in hot rods. I will soon separate the body and frame parts to do the part lay outs. I have to clean up some intersections on the body, got sloppy. :)

I would like to make a driver, but people are beyond my capabilities. Maybe I'll try and make some kind of Humphrey Bogart character for this. Thanks, I think.... :)

I am going to really try and finish this. I have a poor record of releasing models, I tend to help people out with theirs. I would like to see this through though. I am actually restoring a real 1973 M.G. Midget right now, which is taking up a lot of time, getting everything ready that is. :)
