It's all there...

So what about the left question or the forward question, and even the backwards question? Can I answer them?sign1
Of course, we can not forget about the diagonal questions, those are the real tricky ones that always go in weird direction.:p:phamr

Rhaven

Mentor, I think you've got them all covered!sign1sign1
But let me ask one SINGLE question: do you guys have any release (trial) date? I guess everyone's been asking that...:eek:ops:
Cheers!

To my knowledge, there is no "ACTUAL RELEASE DATE" yet. Granted, the sooner the better, of course.
Revell-Fan is designing this (basically) from scratch. So it will take quite a bit of time. Once he has finished designing it, done the alpha build, he will send everything to me. I will do a beta build and FULL evaluation. After that, I will send everything back to him for clean-up and revision. After that (if everything is OK), it will be released for download.
We want this model to be the best and the most accurate that it can be.
So that way, EVERYONE can have a TOP QUALITY model to enjoy.

If the Thunderfighter is an example of the quality this Viper is gonna be in then we're up for a real treat.

Waiting always takes long but it's going to be worth it.

A good quality model that is not only beautifull to see but also a pleasure to build is the best you can get.
I just finished the USS Wanderer, it's a nice model but man to keep pleasure in building it was a real task. So many misalignments that needed tweaking and modding.

I'm convident the Viper will be a model of a complete different order.

The pictures are incredibly promising.

Impressive, most impressive....

Cheers and all the best,
Elko

It's not good, it's excellent!

I just loved that system! It's just like what we do in cartography, to have independent points of view and quality checks. :thumb::thumb:
Both of you work with Google Sketchup? 'Cos I've been working in Blender (I already said that:cry:); I know, I know, it's not as friendly and easy as Sketchup, but it has so many resources...:mrgreen: Maybe I could send you my model after I think it's finished, for evaluation...
Cheers!

To be honest, I really do not know any design programs. I am just a beta builder. I would like to learn either Sketchup or blender (or both for that matter).

If you would like, after you are finished designing it (AND do the initial alpha build), I would be more then happy to test and evaluate your model.

Totally agree and granted, Mentor! As you can see in previous posts, I have found a Blender script that does unfolding, both manually and automatically (which even works fine, for an unintelligent system:rolleyes:). I'm still learning about seams and related stuff, but my bigger problem now is to design an internal support/forming structure.
But I'll get there and make it happen, since I stated that intend to upload the model in about a year or so. I think I'm really ahead of schedule!
All the best!

Rhaven, I couldn't have said it better. :thumb:

Okay, before any of you is totally confused about the possible directions of this project here is another update. This time it's one of the aft landing feet.

If the Thunderfighter is an example of the quality this Viper is gonna be in then we're up for a real treat.

I hope so, too. However, please bear in mind that the TF was designed by Martin Saenger. Rhaven and I have made only the add-on packages for it.

I'm convident the Viper will be a model of a complete different order.

You have no idea how right you are..!

Oh no, there we are again... Would someone ask a diagonal question now, please??? hamrhamrhamr

That rear landing skid look perfect.
It would be cool if the wheels could roll.

I have a question! Is there an "Official" 1:18 release? Cause if you do I will modify Star Wars figures to become Colonial Warriors, may even work up some proper helms.

This is (in essence) the standard procedure when Rhaven and I tackle a new model:

Stage 1 - The idea:

Rhaven: ?
Me: :yep:!
(or vice versa)

Stage 2 - Designing:

Me:
Rhaven: :whip1:
(or vice versa)

Stage 3 - Alpha test build:

Me: wall1wall1wall1
Rhaven: announce1announce1announce1
Me: wall1wall1wall1wall1wall1wall1
Rhaven: announce1announce1announce1announce1announce1
(or vice versa)

Stage 4 - Alpha test build complete, Beta in progress:

Me: :razz::razz::razz:
Rhaven: bounce7
(or vice versa)

Stage 5 - Beta build successful & release:

Me & Rhaven: aussie
(or vice versa)

Thanks for confirmation. :thumb:

To all: Thank you very much for your patience and confidence. It seems that I can begin work on the texture this week. Perhaps I'll scale the landing gear a bit up, too. I'll have to see. Bye!
