Just want anyone affected by the hurricane to know that my thoughts are with you and I hope that everyone stayed safe.

Exhausted from being up most of the night worrying about losing power and therefore my sump pump. Thankfully, power stayed on here, despite much tree and electrical damage nearby. I had my scanner on, and heard how busy emergency crews were all night. My hat's off to them!

Meanwhile, once the rain bands finally stop coming through, I have lots of very large limbs to cut up, as well as damage to my shed roof to fix.

Still, I consider myself lucky, it could have been much worse, and everyone here is OK.

Unfortunately, I just read of a greater misfortune to a fellow modeler on another group. A tree fell on his sister's home, killing her husband and injuring her and their daughter. All our thoughts and prayers to them and anyone else who suffered in this storm.

John, are you OK out there? We're pulling for you, too.

I got hit hard. No electricity still. I was shocked when my phone rang, t was a telemarketer!! I was then aware that I had my Internet connection back. It is costing my around 10 gallons of gas a day to keep the house "on". AArgh!! Trees down everywhere. It has actually changed how it looks around here!

I'm sorry to hear that you've got a large mess and an aggravating gasoline expense to deal with, but glad that you're OK personally. Hang in there, hopefully it won't take your local utility too long to restore service.

Bhelliom and Zathros, good to hear that you are okay. Thanks for taking the time to let us know; I'm sure you have many other more important things to do. And while I'm still fairly new to this community, it IS a community and my heart goes out to you and to all those affected.

My condolences to the family that Bhelliom spoke of..
