I wonder if anybody knows of templates for building warjacks similar to those (I know that in this case those are scratch built from paper with no templates)

Thanks, Bookmarked it and will review. They do have some interesting mechas in there, who knows, I may try my luck some time in the future. Once I get done with the Storms, I have a chicken foot Marauder from Starship Troopers in the works.

thanks Armorman, this looks 2.5D more than a real paper model like the ones we make but it also looks like it would be quick to build.
I checked the site indicated and it looks like it has disappeared.
What do you think about the ones built by Almonds (the one shown in the link I posted),
I can guess a lot of how it is built based on the pictures, The parts I am wondering about is the body underneath the carapace.

looks like layered cardstock to me.

That could be greebled into a 3D model with all those lines on it!?!
