I just couldn't get going on the F4U-4 project, but someone suggested the Skyraider and it felt like a good decision.

I'm going to start with the A-1H and hopefully do an E model sometime in the future(Col Fisher is a hero of mine).

There is obviously still a lot to do and I wouldn't consider this even 1% done but it's already further than a lot of my projects get.

Wow, this is a plane that really could use your touch. I think this has to be one of the most understated, under reported on, and look over aircraft in history. It was a beast of an aircraft! Great choice! :)

Cool a Spad  are ya gonna do an A-1D?

Me personally, no. The H and E are probably all I am going to do, however a lot of guys over at papermodelers.com are drooling over this with talks of repaints and so forth, so maybe one of them will do it or maybe someone from here? I'm willing to let people modify the model (assuming it ever gets released).

The only plane whose list of "Delivered" ordinance includes a kitchen sink :)

Just out of curiosity sir do you have any personal experience with the Skyraider? ie as a soldier or pilot, etc?

@Zathros, Not sure I get the joke, however I will tread a little more softly mentioning that "other" site.

No censoring here. I have too many friends at papermodelers.com and at many other forums to go that route. Just a "poke in the ribs". :)

No first hand experience aside from crawling over the one at the museum of naval aviation in Pensacola Florida. I have the Squadron Signal "Skyraider indetail book and it has all sorts of cool facts. the only prop plane to shoot down a Mig-19, :p

Sorry I kind of let this thread die but events beyond my control scuttled the project. While I was in Hawaii working someone walked into the house we were renting and walked out with my laptop that had all the Skyraider files on it. I had no backups, so end of project.
