You beat me to this. Would you like the longitudinal planks I have worked out for it? Let me know. You're off to a great start.!! :)

I positioned the parts on the cardboard at a 45 angle so they won,t cup.And I trim the base with gold trim. The base complete size is 12x9 inches.

Yes probly won,t needed them for a while.

I'm almost done. You can make the model the way it comes, and if you wish add these planks, printed on thin paper. I will try and finish them on Monday, they are virtually finished. She's coming along nicely! :)

Can you please take a look at this and tell me how far off the size is? I can parametric scale it. I did it according to the drawing but it seems small. It is only the bottom section. Remember that these can be cut along the plank lines as needed to fit.

The forum software will not let me upload the full size image. I am putting it in the DOWNLOADS section. If you cold look at it ASAP, to see if the size is right, then we can go from there. Since you are the first one building this, it might take a couple of times to get the length right. All I will need is the length on top or bottom. I should be able to scale it from there. Thanks (Just cut out a side after you print it and see if it is long enough, you don't have to actually try and glue it on. I've already uploaded it. :)

Corrugated card is not a very good idea for laminating the frame - much better is solid card. Though it is easier to cut out, it's quite flimsy and inaccurate which shows later when you cover the frame with planking.
I advise you to use an isolating foam (in spray bottle) to fill the cavities and then cut, file and sandpaper away the excess - this way you will be able to avoid cowribs and it will strengthen the entire model.

Eventually I will get around to this one as well. I am saving your build process for reference when I get around to it. I probably transfer the plans over to wood and make it that way. good work so far. Be sure to annotate any fit or problems that you may encounter. Thanks and keep it up.

I was thinking the foam idea and I used 3 second glue to laminate the paper to the cardboard which stiffen it.

The hull is visibly twisted lengthwise - You might consider attaching it to the plank - using tape, blocks made of pieces of corrugated cardboard taped together - all in order to stop it from twisting - and then filling it's empty spaces with the foam - when the foam will harden, the shape will be "frozen", so it needs to be as precisely straightened as possible before spraying. Also cover the plank with foil to not waste it with the foam which is extremely sticky.

Can you give me the actual length of the top piece. From tip to tip. A straight line measurement. I'll post another piece 55 MM longer, but it would be better to have the overall actual length of the piece. Thanks! It's in the downloads section now (the bigger piece. If it does not fit, take a string and run it along that topside edge of the decking, then measure the length of the string, that dimension will serve me well. :)

P.S. The twist being referred too is that of the last aft former, which in the picture just seems twisted from the rest of the perfectly straight hull.

Please let me know what you need as it is easy to fix, and I would really like to do this for you, it you want to use it. (The Hull planking). :)
