Chariots

In fact the 4th photo is depicting a chariot form another people. Maybe a country where is today Israel, Jordan and eventually southern Syria. The egytinas always had problems on that area.
But the building tecnhology is basically the same.
I undestood you started with one version in a bigger scale and then changed to 1/35. What I meant about the colours and materials is that honnestly I doubt if copper should be a durable material for the task required. I think that they used bronze, a much harder material that in this historic period had a different colour due to a different compositon of the league. Tge ilustrations with egyptian chariots hide the wheel details, but that Mittanian is very explicit.

Hello Carlos. I believe I understand what you are referring to now. The color of the metal parts on the wheels is actually a true bronze color. The color is almost similar to copper but I Really did use bronze metal paint for them. When I do the other set of wheels I will post the bottle of paint that I used.

Still working on the Chariot. Here the photos on the making of the axe, spears.

Hi Silveroxide: the bronze league with the color we know it, i believe it was developed much later. The Greeks used it, the romans as well.
But in this Period you're depicting, the colour was yellow like gold. That because the composition of the league had different proportions of copper and tin. Actually initially it was copper and arsenic.
I cannot find images showing what I talk about. Naturally archeological findings are so corroded that the colour difference might not be obvious.
Anyhow the Egyptians also used copper at the same time as bronze.

I redid the wheels and they look much different from the ones previously done. The metal hubs were re-painted that gold/bronze color and later on I will do another wheel tutorial. In the meantime, here is the next batch of photos.

Well I am getting to the end of the chariot build and then on to the harness, but I do have another treat for you all. Another remake of the wheel construction which I will incorporated later on in my coach threads. Enjoy and see you all next posting.

Very nice build. Great attention to detail. And I love the fact that you used a Leia figure!

Kudos to you, sir. My hat is off to your skill, artistic vision, and talent.

Thank you for the accolades, If just one person enjoys my builds, then it was all worth the while in doing it. (Too bad Ms Fisher does not look like that anymore,.... sigh!)

So on with the show and here are the last of the chariot build, and next the third version of making a wheel followed by the harness build. Enjoy and see you all soon.

Is that the "Fonz" hitting on our princess! Aay! :)

You know, it does look like the Fonz. It is another Star Wars figure, Hans Solo but the figure was modified to sit on the motorcycle.

I will be back shortly with more photos of the build. The chariot I built is the regular war chariot and not the be-decked parade kind. I was thinking of embellishing the harness and making a horse blanket cover for the team but decided to keep it simple. Enjoy and see all later around the forums with a few more snaps.

Well, the thread is almost coming to the end. The stand will be the last thing but I will make that out of wood. Started on the harness and it came out much better than I expected. Enjoy and I will see you all soon with the finished product. Princess Leia Organa will not be part of the display.

Hi Silveroxide:
A lot of work redoing the wheels, but very rewarding. They really look lighter.
You're really launched on this project. Everything is coming out very good.

Excellent work. You can always just cut a spacer with a diagonal cut and slip it on, but unless you plan on hooking it up to a Chihuahua and actually using it, why bother! The wheel tutorial is excellent and could be modified to work on ut about any wheel made. Great stuff!! :)

There is another version for the making of the wheel incorporating some of the other methods but that will be for another thread.

Thanks Valmy, but I still cannot read the glyphs. I am glad that you enjoyed the thread. See you in the next build thread coming soon.

Hi Silver Oxide,

That was some excellent craftsmanship to come up with the design and execute it as you have done. Highly entertaining to go back and read it all from the beginning. I look forward to your next project.
