Colonial Viper Mk II

Hi,
here is my first model this year! Its the Colonial Viper Mark II from Battelstar Galactica. The model is a free one from Ninjatoes´ . I modified the canopy and the cockpit. The canopy windows are made of transparent foil for laser printer. The cockpit interior is made of cardstock and fully scratchbuilt. I also modified the lateral intakes at the nose of the viper.

regards Loenf

I must say this is my favorite viper fighter. I have this printed out already and have been sitting on it, I want to enlarge it. It's very well designed, structual framing inside the main fuselage, detailed instructions, looks like an enjoyable build.

Excellent job, very clean, do you plan on glass casing this one too. I saw the thread on the Tumbler inside the glass case. I was wondering where you're putting all these, I can picture a room stacked floor to ceiling.

A true capitalist....keeping the fish aquarium factories in business....the tumbler was excellent too, looks like a building nightmare.

using the glue soak reshaping to get the fuselage clefts that start from the cockpit canopy, up to 3/4ths of the way to the nose and of course the unique trapezoidal shaped cross section of my project.

Actually, you're right. You can't see the post before mine. However, the model was so nice and since the model is still available, I figured what the heck.

For those who should decide to build Ninjatoes viper, keep in mind that it does not have a detailed cockpit. This one has a cockpit. Check the threads for a detailed cockpit option. A few of us modelers have built one and the process is out there. There are also some more Viper models out there as well, like paragons with lines and without lines. It does make for an interesting build. The hardest part to build, is that bulge curve aft of the cockpit area. Loenf did a great job in this area. Make sure to surf the net for more details on the model, both graphic and plastic, which will make the construction more detailed. Hope to see the next Viper come out of the launch tube and onto the forum for us to enjoy and say, "NAW THAT AIN'T PAPER, NO WAY"
