OUTSTANDING JOB!!!
I like the hinges that you made for the landing gear hatches. They look really good. They add a more realistic touch to that section. How well will they scale down to 1:32?

I am impressed with your work.

I do have one observation though, I noticed that the colouring of the engine section appears to be a bit off. Did you have a printer problem, or am I seeing it oddly?

Keep up the GREAT work!!!

Excellent and clean build. Really impressive and I love this model. Sadly I have never seen any of the Buck Rogers series but this build is making me think I should give it a try.

The hinges are duplicate inner gear doors, with the middle cut out, scored in the middle (.2" at 1:18 ). I also lengthened the gear struts and attached them to part 143. RB, you are correct about the color, it is the product of using two different printers over two years of building, that is an error that I will no be repeating. If only this were Star Trek, it would be kick ass aztecing....

Do you find yourself doing dogfights, you will need extra arms for a proper battle! :)

That is so cool! You really ought to post it to the Starship Modeler reader gallery, just to show the plastic-types what we paper modelers can do!

And because you deserve the bragging rights!

Definitely beats out anything plastic I've seen!

Hey and New here and my first post.

As someone who loves custom figure/ vehicle building in 1/18th scale, this had my attention immediately.

All I can say is Superb job and so want one of these myself :D

I have the original Mego TF for the figures (missing lower landing wings and engines :/ ). Don`t suppose you have the Mego TF to put this model next to for comparison?

Again truly a superb job and jealous.

TV, I am honored that I got your first post. I do not have the Mego TF, I do have Buck, Wilma, Twiki, and the Mego tank, I'll see if I can get you some size pics. I wanted to find a Mego TF, decided to build several instead (there will be another, I will post as I build). Don't be jealous, make your own, I resized Martin's model 178%. Just add alot of stiffeners to the underside parts.

Thank You for the advice and I think I will. I was thinking however of printing and then afixing to plastic card sheets to help give this a more rigid body. DO people do this method?

I ask on the Old Mego TF to this paper model one, as I have the Mego one BUT it needs new engines, cones, lower landing wings :(
I have a feeling the paper is BIGGER due to the fact you have a double seat cockpit in yours and the Mego one is tight with ONE figure in it (almost laying down too) LOL

I think I will have to try my hand at this project BUT first I need sort the Classic BSG LANDRAM :D

Thanks again :D

Zathros, check this:

This is the rocket conversion that I saw.
Anyway... I got to thinking.... Based on what Rhaven Blaack mentioned, about Kinkos... And then the "geek" part of my mind had a little conversation in my Sci-Fi head.
Dr. Huer: Buck, Wilma, our combat attrition rate has fallen to an unacceptable level.
Buck: Well, I was working with the Major Danton to over come the limitations of the ship computers.
Dr. Huer: Yes, Buck and that has helped, but our fighters are being shredded.
Wilma: What does Dr. Theopolis and Crichton have to say?
Crichton: That level of banality is beneath my advanced processing, Hmp.
Dr. Theopolis: I have consulted an 6th generation AI computer with an IQ of 6000, that is in service in a commercial compacity, and I believe that that consultant has a solution.
Holly:Hey, dudes! I think I can solve your, whatzit, problem.
(OK, this gets a little cross over geeky, but, it is going somewhere, promise)
Holly: The thing about space is, well it's the colour of space, you know, black. And the thing about your fighters is, well they operate in space, which is black. But your fighters are white, right? Well it's just me, but I think they stand out, you know? White on black, easy to see, right? Well what if, being that you operate in space, which is black, if your fighters were, more black? They would be harder to see. And if the other guys can't see them, maybe they can't shoot them?
Buck: Yeah, in the 20th century, were did that, we called it camouflage.
Dr. Huer & Wilma: Camouflage?
Twiki: Bede bede bede Damn straight Buck!
Dr. Huer: Will it work?
Wilma: It is worth a try, It sounds good.

Just got back from Kinkos. Yes, it is 1:18. Yes, I will be finishing the other fighter, on this thread. I am planning to remove the cockpit from the existing TF, and put them into the repaint. I am hoping that the cockpit that Rhaven Blaack designed can go into the "screen accurate" build.
Anyway....
Well, best laid plans of mice and men. 2011 was a long, long time ago. So, a week or two off of work for surgery recovery, and here we are. Yes, that is an Astromech socket. Because astromechs are awesome.dk gry TF 2.jpg dk Gry TF 1.jpg
